As an Assistant Product Specialist Medical Equipment (ILS employee), you are the link that ensures the medical assortment of the Armed Forces – from instruments to complete sets – is available and operational worldwide at the right time. From the MGLC in Heerenveen, you will work closely with system managers, product specialists, and other assistant product specialists to monitor the complete product lifecycle: keeping technical documentation up-to-date, creating and maintaining master data in SAP, assessing configurations, advising users and suppliers, and providing project support for the procurement, maintenance, and disposal of medical equipment. Your efforts guarantee that all logistical, technical, and documentary processes seamlessly align, so that (military) healthcare providers at home and abroad can rely on dependable medical (aid) items.

Where will you work?
As a civilian employee, you will be employed by the Defense Support Command (DOSCO), within the Defense Healthcare Organization (DGO), and you will work at the Military Medical Logistics Center (MGLC) in Heerenveen.
The Military Medical Logistics Center (MGLC) is THE logistical center for the medical assortment within the Armed Forces. With our logistical support, we contribute to the operational readiness of the armed forces.
The Knowledge & Expertise team currently consists of 22 employees and is expanding. You will report to one of the team leaders (System & Project Managers).
What is our mission?
The MGLC provides pharmaceutical articles, military medical equipment, knowledge and expertise, goods, and (maintenance) services for optimal medical care for the Dutch Armed Forces, worldwide and under all circumstances, as well as for executed humanitarian aid. The MGLC does this in a customer-oriented, reliable, efficient, and innovative manner, taking into account laws and regulations.
What will you do?
-Technical documentation: manage specifications and documentation of medical articles and keep all equipment documentation up-to-date.
-Data maintenance in SAP: build and maintain item master data, bills of materials, PO plans, and task lists.
-Configuration management: assess which configuration is needed for optimal use of medical articles within the defense organization.
-Advice & contact: advise users, suppliers, and internal departments on equipment logistical aspects and documentation.
-Project support: You will participate in projects for the procurement, maintenance, and disposal of medical equipment.
Job Requirements
What do you bring?
- a completed MBO 4 education in technology, logistics, or a comparable field;
- experience or affinity with equipment logistical processes;
- knowledge of or experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP;
- good digital skills, including working with Office applications.
