Assistant Manager- Production - Injection Moulding
Job description
Designation: Assistant Manager- Production - Injection Moulding Company: Listed company into Plastic flims & consumer durables Location: Rajkot, Gujarat
Roles & Responsibilities Oversee the entire injection moulding production operations, ensuring achievement of production targets with optimal efficiency and quality.
Must have in-depth knowledge of injection moulding processing and the ability to identify process needs for new product development and validation.
Plan, organize, and line out all production processes in a timely manner with minimal material wastage and downtime.
Monitor and maintain product quality and cycle time by continual observation and control of process parameters such as temperature, pressure, and speed, according to raw material specifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex quality and processing problems, analyzing root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Ensure daily maintenance and cleaning schedules of machines and auxiliary equipment are strictly followed to maintain uptime and reliability.
Accurately measure and analyze machine performance, scrap, waste, and downtime, ensuring continual process improvement.
Generate, maintain, and review production documentation, including process sheets, setup sheets, work instructions, and quality inspection reports.
Prepare and analyze downtime, productivity, and efficiency reports, identifying trends and recommending improvement actions.
Lead and supervise the production team (shift engineers, operators, technicians) to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
Assist in mould changeovers and lead initiatives to reduce SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Dies) time and improve setup efficiency.
Maintain high standards of 5S, workplace discipline, and plant cleanliness across all shifts.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols, ISO standards, and company SOPs in all production activities.
Collaborate closely with the Quality, Maintenance, and Tool Room departments to ensure smooth operations and problem resolution.
Provide training, mentoring, and skill development for production staff to enhance technical capability and performance.
Support new product trials, process validation, and PPAP activities in coordination with the NPD team.
Monitor material utilization and ensure minimum wastage while maintaining quality standards.
Be flexible to work in any shift or department as per production requirements.
Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects, focusing on productivity enhancement, cost reduction, and quality improvement.
Report to Production Manager / Plant Head and provide strategic inputs for capacity planning and resource optimization.
