Assistant Director of Sales - MICE

We’re looking for an experienced and driven Assistant Director of Sales – MICE to drive revenue growth across Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions. This role is proactive and all about building strong client relationships, supporting the MICE sales strategy, and driving revenue for group accommodation and catering while showcasing Cordis Auckland as the destination of choice for business events.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Sales – MICE to achieve revenue targets for group accommodation and catering.
• Proactively source new business and build strong relationships with key accounts, Professional Conference Organisers, associations, and corporate clients.
• Manage a portfolio of accounts and opportunities, driving conversion and retention through consistent follow-up and client engagement.
• Contribute to sales planning and account strategies to grow market share and maximise opportunities in the MICE segment.
• Collaborate closely with the Director of Sales - MICE and Director of Catering & Event Sales to ensure alignment and deliver hotel-wide success.
• Represent the hotel at trade shows, industry events, and networking opportunities as required.
• Maintain an active and accurate pipeline, including CRM updates, competitor insights, and performance reporting.
• Support team capability through day-to-day leadership, coaching, and coverage when required.

Our Ideal Candidate will have

• Proven experience in hospitality sales, with strong exposure to the MICE segment.
• A track record of achieving revenue targets in group business sales.
• Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
• High-level presentation skills, both verbal and written.
• A proactive, hands-on approach and strong attention to detail.
• Flexibility, resilience, and a can-do attitude in a fast-paced environment.
