Assistant Bar Manager

Oaks Queenstown Shores Resort

are looking for motivated and experienced Assistant Bar Manager to support the day-to-day operations of our bar. You will lead by example on the floor, support staff development, and help maintain high standards across service, compliance, and presentation.

Our property has been completely refurbished, unveiling a brand-new upscale dining and bar experience with panoramic views of Lake Wakatipu.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily bar operations with a focus on premium guest experiences.
• Support the Bar Manager in training, mentoring, and motivating the team.
• Oversee stock control, beverage ordering, and supplier relationships.
• Contribute to the creation and delivery of a dynamic cocktail and beverage offering.
• Ensure compliance with all licensing, health, and safety standards.
• Work closely with the wider F&B team to deliver seamless, memorable dining experiences.

Our recently refurbished property introduces a sophisticated dining and bar experience, showcasing panoramic views over Lake Wakatipu.

• Newly refurbished, upscale hotel food and beverage operation
• Curated wine cellar featuring some of New Zealand’s finest wines
• Seasonal menu by Chef Gerhard Gerber, focused on seasonal New Zealand seafood, meats, and produce

Shift Details (subject to change):

• Full time position
• Wednesday through to Sunday
• Shifts are scheduled between 2.00pm-10.30pm
• Currently, we are only accepting applications from candidates who have working rights within New Zealand.
