Physician (m/f/d) - Head of Social Psychiatric Service

Job Description:

The district of Rotenburg (Wümme) is seeking to fill the position of

at the Rotenburg (Wümme) or Zeven location as soon as possible.

The public health office, with its 72 employees, combines the official and company medical service, dental service, child and adolescent health service, social psychiatric service, senior and care support center, home supervision, environmental and infectious hygiene, and the guardianship authority. Your team within the Social Psychiatric Service, which provides outpatient support services for individuals (and their relatives) with mental illnesses, includes several social workers (m/f/d) and medical assistants (m/f/d).

Your Responsibilities:

• You will assume personnel, organizational, and professional responsibility for the Social Psychiatric Service. You will create the framework conditions and guidelines with which your employees can perform their daily work.
• You will provide medical support in assessing the necessity of protective measures according to the NPsychKG and carry out tasks according to the NPsychKG. Furthermore, you will prepare medical reports, including psychological and psychotherapeutic issues, according to SGB II, SGB IX, SGB XII, and AsylbLG, and regarding fitness to travel according to AsylG.
• The preparation of psychiatric statements for integration assistance measures according to SGB IX for mentally disabled or substance-dependent individuals is also part of the responsible tasks.
• You will also play an important role in professional collaboration with public authorities and private providers of psychiatric and psychosocial support services.
• Additionally, you will be responsible for the management of the Social Psychiatric Network (SPV).

Your Profile:

• You hold a German medical license to practice.
• A completed specialization in psychiatry or child and adolescent psychiatry is desirable, but not a mandatory requirement.
• A very high level of German language proficiency in speaking and writing (equivalent to C1 GER) is required for the performance of duties, particularly for the preparation of complex written documents and for advising our internal and external contacts (m/f/d).
• It is desirable that you have prior professional experience in a social psychiatric service, in the application of the NPsychKG, or in working with mentally disabled and substance-dependent individuals.
• You will advocate for the needs of your employees. You will be a point of contact for professional questions, foster a respectful working atmosphere, and create the work environment your employees need to fulfill their tasks.
• As you are responsible for your area of work, you have a very structured approach to work, can prioritize your tasks, and can find appropriate solutions even in challenging situations.
• In your daily work, you will have a lot of contact with your employees, clients, and external stakeholders. Therefore, you have highly developed communication skills, characterized by your ability to get to the point, address problems directly, consider all parties involved in disagreements, and yet confidently and assertively present your own viewpoint when necessary.
• You possess a Class B driver's license and are willing to undertake business trips within the district.
• For applicants (m/f/d) born after December 31, 1970, proof of adequate measles vaccination or immunity, or other proof according to § 20 IfSG, is required upon employment.

The position is to be filled indefinitely at the Rotenburg (Wümme) or Zeven service location as soon as possible. This is a full-time position (39 hours per week), which is generally also suitable for part-time employment. Remuneration will be based on qualifications within the scope of collective bargaining agreements in pay grade 14 (Physician m/f/d) or 15 TVÖD (Specialist Physician m/f/d). Willingness to work outside of regular working hours is assumed.
