Senior Visual Development Artist

The Senior Visual Development Artist creates and refines the looks of 3D models to ensure a hyper-realistic rendering, combining textures, nuances, and surface properties. He/she directly contributes to the artistic and technical quality of delivered assets, ensuring they meet Rodeo FX's high standards and integrate harmoniously into sequences. Working closely with texture, lighting, compositing, supervision, and production teams, he/she actively participates in the pipeline and achieving creative and technical objectives.

Main Responsibilities :

Mastery of Craft

• Develop and refine 3D model looks to ensure visual realism and technical solidity.
• Prepare turntables and validation renders allowing for artistic and technical quality evaluation.
• Integrate requested corrections quickly and ensure asset finalization within deadlines.

Creative Quality

• Pose artistic solutions to improve renders and support project creative vision.
• Ensure aesthetic coherence with other departments (textures, shading, lighting, compositing).
• Maintain a high level of detail and realism to meet Rodeo FX's visual standards.

Technical Quality

• Create and maintain an optimized library of nuanceurs for various surface types.
• Set up shading structures and Nuke scripts favoring lighting and compositing efficiency.
• Detect and correct technical issues quickly to avoid pipeline blockages.

Communication

• Closely collaborate with supervisors and colleagues from Assets, Lighting, and Compositing departments to align work methods.
• Inform the production team of progress, potential issues, and deadlines.
• Actively participate in dailies and constructive exchanges with the supervision team.

Learn, Share, and Evolve

• Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues in the department.
• Contribute to developing tools and techniques promoting efficiency and quality.
• Stay up-to-date on technological and artistic advancements in Lookdev and propose integration when relevant.
