Area Manager

Operations is the beating heart of Amazon. This key part of our business makes sure we fulfil and dispatch orders efficiently so that our customers get their items on time. As an Area Manager, you’ll make sure your site is running as smoothly as it should so that we can meet customer demand. You will be leading a team that helps keep our operations safe, efficient, and of a high quality and taking on a number of projects across our network to drive productivity. Key job responsibilities Promote the efficiency and effectiveness of your site by implementing process improvements and best practices. Develop and maintain strong relationships with your team members, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to succeed. Foster an environment that encourages open communication, collaboration, and continuous learning. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Identify and address potential risks and opportunities for improvement. Provide coaching and development opportunities to help your team grow and improve. Drive productivity by streamlining processes, improving workflow, and optimizing resources. Analyze data and metrics to measure performance and make informed decisions. Develop and manage budgets and financial plans to achieve business objectives. Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction through effective communication and issue resolution. Lead by example, demonstrating Amazon’s values and principles in your daily work. You will be responsible for managing a team of operations managers, supervisors, and associates who are responsible for receiving, storing, and shipping customer orders. This includes ensuring that all activities are performed safely, efficiently, and effectively. You will also be responsible for managing the site’s budget, inventory, and resources to ensure that we can meet customer demand. Key requirements include: Strong leadership and management skills with experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working in a warehouse or distribution center environment. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and build strong relationships with colleagues. High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred. 5+ years of experience in operations management, logistics, or supply chain management. Certification in Lean Six Sigma or similar process improvement methodology is a plus.
