Job description

Position Description – Machine Operator

Salary: $67,000 to $75,000 per year

Employment Type: Full-time

ABOUT THIS ROLE:

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining manufacturing equipment while supporting the production of high-quality insulated panels. You will contribute to daily output, workplace safety, and team collaboration—ensuring every task aligns with Arctic’s values and production goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Machine Operation

  • Operate manufacturing machinery, including:
    • Panel Machine
    • PIR Machine
    • Hot Wire Machine
    • Melter
  • Conduct pre-start checks and regular equipment maintenance
  • Conduct all required quality assurance checks
  • Follow safety procedures and report issues or faults
  • Monitor machine output for quality and accuracy
  • Assist with machine setups, adjustments, and minor repairs

2. Production Support

  • Follow daily production schedules and instructions from the Supervisor
  • Assist with loading/unloading of raw materials and finished products
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and minimal downtime
  • Help with general manufacturing and yard duties when required

3. Warehouse Tasks

  • Assist with material handling, part storage, and stocktake
  • Safely move goods using approved plant and equipment
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace

4. Safety & Compliance

  • Participate in HSE briefings and toolbox talks
  • Use appropriate PPE at all times
  • Comply with company and industry safety procedures
  • Report hazards or incidents promptly

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

1. Experience & Physical Requirements

  • Previous experience operating industrial or manufacturing machinery
  • Physically fit and capable of:
    • Lifting up to 55kg
    • Reaching 30cm forward and 50cm across the body
    • Handling objects under 75cm in two dimensions
  • Strong understanding of safe work practices
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently

2. Licences & Certifications

  • Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Forklift Licence (desirable)
  • Relevant Plant Tickets
  • Working at Heights Certificate (preferred)
  • Load Restraint Certificate (beneficial)
