Hardware-Near Software Development Architect (m/w/x)

To strengthen our expert team at K-tronik, a customer from the wireless and communication industry, we're looking for a Hardware-Near Software Development Architect in permanent employment. We're excited to get to know you personally - and work together with passion and teamwork on exciting projects and future-oriented technologies.
Tasks:
- Requirements Management: Active participation in taking, analyzing, and formally specifying functional and non-functional requirements that establish the architecture - System Architecture: Design, definition, and documentation of the entire system architecture for new SoC Embedded Platforms considering real-time demands, performance, and scalability - Embedded C++ Development: Responsibility for low-level software design (drivers, middleware, RTOS integration) on microcontrollers, using modern C++ standards (C++17/20) on limited resources - VHDL/FPGA Architecture: Definition of the hardware architecture within the FPGA, including interfaces, data paths, and hardware accelerators that interact closely with embedded software - Interface Management: Specification of APIs and communication protocols between software (C++) and hardware (VHDL), ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance - Code Quality and Standards: Definition of architectural guidelines, coding standards, and verification strategies for both domains (software unit tests, hardware-in-the-loop simulations)
Qualifications:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a comparable field or training - Expert knowledge in programming microcontrollers and CPUs (ARM, RISC-V, etc.) in modern C++ (including concepts like Design Patterns for Embedded Systems, Unit Testing) - In-depth knowledge of VHDL and practical experience in architecture and implementation of complex logic for current FPGA families - Experience in embedded software development in modern, object-oriented C++ in a Linux environment using Git as version control - Secure application of communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, Ethernet) and experience with bus systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS) - Ability to clearly and precisely document complex technical issues (e.g., UML, architectural documents) - You can be excited about shaping technology and contributing to the implementation of innovative products - Self-motivated, goal-oriented work style combined with a high degree of team spirit and open communication - You work independently, structured, and bring an excellent problem-solving ability with you - Very good German and English language skills in writing and speaking
