JOB PROFILE
We have an ambitious plan to enter the Australian building market to construct cost-efficient and quick-assembly homes which are bound to be a boon for the low and middle-class population. It is an unique method of hybrid development design with potential to become an industry standard in the future for small homes construction.
This is a full-time placement, and the candidates should have experience in the construction industry for at least 3 years.
TITLE: ARCHITECTURAL DRAFT PERSON
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The incumbent is expected to be proficient in Autocad, STAAD or similar software with at least 5 years' experience in absorbing client needs and converting into a productionable drawing in consultation and under the supervision of qualified Structural Engineers and Architects. The candidate should also possess adequate knowledge of rendering software and be able to offer full-service design of the elevation of the buildings designed.
He or she should be able to explain the features of the drawings with the client, understand changes and additional needs, and incorporate them in the drawings without compromising the structural and architectural features of the building.
He or she should be able to arrive at the bill of quantities of the building and prepare the framework for receiving quotes by segregating specific tasks covered in the document.
He or she should be able to prepare working drawings in consultation with Engineers and Architects, explain its complexities to the building contractor, and ensure compliance throughout the life of the building construction.
He or she should be able to visit the site of construction, evaluate conformity of actual construction with drawings, take corrective steps in case of deviations. Where it is of serious nature, convene a meeting of all concerned and manage variance.
Being a small company in size, the incumbent is expected to follow up with the contractor for progress and adherence to the contract period of completion. For this purpose, he or she will convene periodic site meetings, prepare minutes, and follow up on compliance to agreed minutes.
Being a small company, the incumbent will also keep and maintain data of production times for each part of the production, to be able to assess and compare for future production runs. He or she will also check bills received from contractors and ensure that it is in conformity with the agreed development contract.
