Apprentice Maintenance Fitter

Our Process Plant Maintenance team have an opening for an Apprentice Maintenance Fitter. This role will work 7 days on / 7 days off, 7am - 7pm daily. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, this role will likely progress to a fully qualified Maintenance Fitter role, taking on more complex repair and maintenance tasks.

This position will involve carrying out routine mechanical maintenance of the process plant and entire site equipment to the required standards of performance and safety under the guidance and instruction of the mechanical maintenance supervisor.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Carries out routine mechanical maintenance on process plant and site assets, as directed by Mechanical Supervisor
• Actively seeks guidance and knowledge from qualified maintenance fitters to develop technical skills.
• Accurately records all fault repair information into computerised maintenance management system to ensure all future planning can be improved.
• Actively provides suggestions and alternatives for improvements to maintenance and operational processes
• Assists with electrical maintenance or plant operation as required.
• Is available for standby as rostered and as required during plant breakdowns.
• Ensures that the workshop and yard are kept tidy and that the plant site is left tidy after maintenance work is carried out.
• Complies with all health & safety requirements and observes all company policies and procedures.
• Undertakes all requirements of the training programme to attain the necessary qualifications.
• Carries out all other duties that may reasonably be required
