Applied Mathematics Expert – AI Model Evaluation

Project Description

This project requires candidates to evaluate the responses of our client’s Large Language Model for accuracy, coherence, and alignment with their quality standards. You will be evaluating responses related to your domain of expertise and given access to search and research tools. You will verify the accuracy of each response, correct mistakes made by the LLM, and give detailed feedback on the LLM’s performance in each response.

Location:  Priority consideration for applicants in the U.S. or educated at accredited U.S. institutions.

Commitment

• We expect a minimum of 15 hours per week, however considering the project scope and timelines the preferred and recommended commitment would be 8 hours/day. ALL CANDIDATES WHO CAN COMMIT FOR LESS THAN 15 HOURS/WEEK WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

Hiring Profile

• You hold a BSc/MSc/PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, with foundational coursework in Calculus, Linear Algebra, Probability, Statistics, Optimization/Numerical Methods, Differential Equations, and Discrete Mathematics/Algorithms.
• You are confident working on applied math modeling, probability & statistics, optimization, numerical analysis, and discrete/algorithmic reasoning at a conceptual and practical level.
• You have operated primarily within Mathematics & Statistics and Computer Science (applied/problem-solving contexts).
• You are interested in covering adjacent domains (e.g., quantitative economics/econometrics, basic scientific computing) as needed.
• You demonstrate C1+ English proficiency with excellent writing skills.
• Bonus: You have experience with data labeling, RLHF, or AI model evaluation.
