As Application Operator / DevOps Engineer, you ensure with our team that these applications run stably, performantly, and securely - and continuously develop the technical operation further.

HITS.nrw is a newly founded central IT service provider for public universities in North Rhine-Westphalia. Our mission: Provide modern, secure, and scalable IT services so that universities can focus on teaching, research, and innovation.

What awaits you

• Betrieb und Weiterentwicklung zentraler Campus-Applikationen (z. B. HISinOne, Moodle, ILIAS) in Linux- und Kubernetes-Umgebungen mit Fokus auf Stabilität und Performance für tausende Anwender
• Analyse von Incidents im 2nd-/3rd-Level sowie nachhaltige Behebung komplexer Störungen
• Konfiguration und Betrieb von Anwendungen auf Linux-Applikationsservern und in containerisierten Umgebungen (Kubernetes)
• Automatisierung und kontinuierliche Optimierung des Betriebs, z. B. durch CI/CD-Pipelines oder Configuration Management (z. B. Puppet)
• Sicherstellung von Systemverfügbarkeit und Performance durch Monitoring sowie Begleitung von Releases, Updates und technischen Tests

What you bring

• Abgeschlossene IT-Ausbildung (z. B. Fachinformatiker/in) oder vergleichbare praktische Erfahrung im IT-Betrieb
• Erfahrung im Betrieb von IT-Anwendungen oder Systemen, z. B. als Systemadministrator, Linux Administrator, Application Operator oder DevOps Engineer
• Gute Kenntnisse in Linux sowie ein solides Verständnis von Systembetrieb und Fehleranalyse
• Erfahrung mit containerisierten Anwendungen, idealerweise Kubernetes
• Interesse an Automatisierung und modernen Betriebsprozessen (z. B. CI/CD, Configuration Management)
