To strengthen our team in Pulheim (or Langenhagen), we are looking for a dedicated Application Engineer (m/f/d) Pumps & System Solutions. In this versatile position, you will combine technical expertise with customer orientation and accompany challenging projects from the initial inquiry to successful implementation. The focus is on the design of pumps and system solutions, including the replacement and modernization of third-party products, as well as on personal customer support.
Tasks
- Technical design and dimensioning of pumps, pumping stations, and system solutions for demanding customer applications
- Technical consultation of our customers and analysis of their individual requirements
- Preparation, calculation, and tracking of quotations
- Development of modernization, retrofit, and replacement concepts for Xylem products as well as systems from other manufacturers
- Independent management and processing of projects and orders from inquiry to invoicing
- Conducting site surveys and technical clarifications directly at the customer's premises
- Support and consultation of existing and new customers throughout the entire project lifecycle
- Handling technical queries and support with complaint and warranty cases
- Close collaboration with sales, service, and other internal departments
- Support with complex technical problem solutions and commissioning
- Identification of customer needs and new business opportunities within your area of responsibility
Qualifications
- Completed technical training or a degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, process engineering, utility engineering, or a comparable field of study
- Experience in pump technology, ideally in the field of water or wastewater applications
- Knowledge in the design of pumps and hydraulic systems is advantageous
- Strong technical understanding and the ability to translate individual customer requirements into suitable solutions
- Confident and professional demeanor in dealing with customers and business partners
- Independent, structured, and solution-oriented way of working
- Good knowledge of common MS Office applications and experience with ERP systems
- Fluent German and English skills
- Willingness to travel for occasional customer visits in the regional area
