Application Engineer (m/w/d)

We are looking for an Application Engineer (m/w/d) for a renowned financial institution with locations in Hamburg and Kiel.

Tasks

• Keep applications running smoothly – and do more than just manage the status quo
• In close cooperation with business, take on requirements, question them, and technically implement them excellently
• Develop prototypes and small MVPs that show new ways and make potential quickly graspable
• Participate in architectural decisions – and use technologies that will still be relevant tomorrow
• Help shape standards for monitoring & logging – for an operation that doesn't just react, but proactively acts

Qualification

• You know the details of complex application operations – stability, transparency, and sustainable solutions are your daily bread
• You use Java specifically to implement small features or MVPs – pragmatically, efficiently, and close to the application
• You navigate modern architectures like Microservices with ease and know what really works in ongoing operation
• CI/CD pipelines, container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and high-performance application operation are your thing
• REST interfaces, Kafka, databases or identity management? No new territory – you've got these topics under control
• You bring structure to complex system landscapes and move confidently between business requirements and technical implementation – in German as well as English
