Our client, a leader in the additive manufacturing space, is seeking two highly skilled and customer-focused individuals to join their growing team. This is a unique opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge hardware and software, directly impacting how businesses integrate and leverage 3D printing for real-world applications.

As an Applications Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of customer success, tackling diverse responsibilities including:

  • Solving Complex Challenges: Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support to address intricate customer issues, while consistently providing valuable feedback to the product and engineering teams.
  • On-Site Training & Support: Travel across the USA and Canada to customer sites, where you'll train users to successfully operate and maintain their new 3D printers.
  • Customer Onboarding & Knowledge Transfer: Collaborate closely with sales and marketing to refine the customer onboarding process and identify areas for improved knowledge transfer.
  • Slicing Optimization: Work within the applications engineering team to optimize slicing strategies and print processes, ensuring optimal outcomes for customers.
  • Innovate Slicing Solutions: Apply Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) principles to innovate slicing solutions for complex geometries, enhancing both printability and efficiency.

What You Bring:

We're looking for individuals with a strong blend of technical expertise and customer-facing experience.

  • Experience in a technical service or applications engineering role within the 3D printing industry with FFF/FDM applications and/or processing high-performance materials (PEEK, PEKK, PEI, PI is a plus). Is a plus or Advanced manufacturing technologies
  • Experience in a direct customer-facing role, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with CAD software and a solid understanding of Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) principles.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience using an open slicer either professionally or personally is a big plus (PrusaSlicer, Cura, Bambu Slicer, OrcaSlicer, Simplify3D
  • Knowledge of thermoplastic material science and its industrial applications.

Travel required: 50% (2 weeks each month). The job will require training in Montreal.
