Application Configuration Lead

Our client is seeking an experienced Application Configuration Lead to take ownership of complex application configuration and provide technical guidance across the configuration function. This role is suited to a senior configuration professional with strong business analysis, systems thinking and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery of complex application configurations across workflows, fields, templates, permissions, integrations, APIs, job feeds and analytics.
• Analyse business requirements and translate them into practical configuration specifications.
• Produce clear implementation and configuration documentation.
• Establish and enforce configuration standards, best practices, reusable templates and quality controls.
• Review configuration completed by team members to ensure accuracy, security, maintainability and alignment with platform standards.
• Act as the escalation point for complex configuration, solution design and troubleshooting matters.
• Support functional, end-to-end and user acceptance testing.
• Manage and develop configuration team members.
• Promote consistent and high-quality delivery practices across the team.
• Identify recurring requirements, platform limitations and opportunities for product improvements.
• Provide input into the product roadmap based on configuration and implementation insights.

Requirements:

• At least 5 years' experience in enterprise application configuration, SaaS implementation or a related role.
• Strong hands-on experience configuring complex business applications.
• Experience configuring workflows, fields, templates, roles and permissions.
• Business analysis experience with the ability to translate requirements into effective system solutions.
• Strong documentation and specification skills.
• Experience with integrations, APIs, data feeds or interconnected enterprise systems.
• Experience establishing configuration standards and reviewing the quality of others' work.
• Strong testing, troubleshooting and systems-thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Ability to coach and influence colleagues without formal management authority.
• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience.
