Apigee Support L1 L2

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Production Engineer specializing in Apigee L1/L2 Support.

This position is based in Montreal, requiring three days per week on-site, including either a Monday or Friday. The contract runs until August 2027 (permanence possible), offering an hourly rate of $100 or 120 (estimate). The role involves a 40-hour workweek, with on-call duties for 2 to 3 weekends per year. Please note that the schedule may extend up to 8:00 PM as part of a "follow-the-sun" support model.

As the sole API expert within a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the Google Apigee platform (Edge version, 100% on-premise). Your mission will focus on ensuring stability, performance, and automation of environments, collaborating closely with development, infrastructure, and security teams. A transition to a hybrid architecture is planned.

You will oversee the administration of cloud technologies, including Apigee, Ansible Tower, Marketplace, and Robotics. Your role will involve providing technical support—resolving critical incidents, conducting proactive monitoring, and managing alerts (Dynatrace). You will also drive automation by developing scripts (Unix, Terraform, Ansible) and tools to streamline processes. Collaboration with development and support teams, as well as participation in technical projects (architecture reviews, migrations), will be essential. Additionally, you will provide "Follow the Sun" support, addressing microservices and cloud environments both locally and internationally.

• 3 to 5 years of experience in application support with an API platform (Apigee preferred, or alternatives like Kong/MuleSoft).
  
• 5+ years of Linux/Unix administration in critical environments.
  
• 3+ years of server management (Tomcat, Apache, nginx, IIS) and scripting (Python, Bash, Java).
  
• Experience with Dynatrace or similar monitoring tools.
  

• Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Ansible).
  
• Experience with automation tools (Ansible Tower), log analysis (Splunk/ElasticSearch), and networking (firewalls, load balancing).
  
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra) and ITIL processes.
  
• Bilingual proficiency (French/English) or fluency in English. English resume required.
  

• API Specialist (preferably Apigee), focused on support and maintenance rather than project work.
  
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing priorities and after-hours interventions.
  
• Strong communication skills for potential client interactions.
