Animal Attendant / Nelson

Introduction ABOUT THE ROLE We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent, full-time Animal Attendant to join our Animal Services team in Nelson to work Tuesday to Saturday. In this role you get to see the best and the worst. It is a rewarding, fulfilling, and essential role, as well as demanding, heartbreaking and physical. It takes a special kind of person to do this role but what you get back can really fill your cup. You will be their human and ensure that all animals in the centre are cared for, fed, cleaned up after, and given love and attention. This is not just a job, it's a calling. Key responsibilities: • Provide exceptional care and attention to all animals in the centre • Ensure the health and well-being of all animals in your care • Clean up after animals, including cleaning cages, feeding areas, and other animal enclosures • Assist with animal adoptions, including preparing animals for adoption and providing information to potential adopters • Participate in animal training and socialization activities • Maintain accurate records of animal care and health • Work collaboratively with the Animal Services team to achieve centre goals and objectives • Provide excellent customer service to visitors and callers to the centre • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to improve skills and knowledge • Other duties as required.
