Job description
Develop Android Software That Gets People Moving
Do you want to develop Android apps and see your code used in a real product? At AUGLETICS, you will develop software for smart rowing machines and our app. You can try out new features directly and improve them together with the team – from the first prototype to a reliable application.
We develop and produce in Königs Wusterhausen near Berlin. Our company has about 25 employees; in the software team, you will work with four to five people and directly with our CTO Christopher Klabunde. We have many ideas and are looking for someone who thinks along, enjoys programming, and values good results.
What You Will Develop With Us
Android Functions for Device and App: You will develop new features, improve existing processes, and work on understandable, reliable operation.
Interplay in Focus: You will work on interfaces between the app, device software, and backend, and help to cleanly solve data flows and error cases.
Test Ideas in Practice: You will implement prototypes, try them out on the rowing machine, and further develop good approaches with the team.
Quality from the Start: You will write comprehensible code, participate in reviews and tests, and sustainably fix bugs.
Meaningful Use of AI: You will use AI-powered development tools for ideas, code, tests, and error analysis. You will understand and review the results before they go into the product.
What You Bring With You
Programming fundamentals and a desire for native Android development with Kotlin or Java. Practical Android experience is welcome; if you are new to Android, we are interested in your learning path and motivation.
You can explain how you approach technical tasks. Your own apps, learning projects, university projects, internships, and working student positions count just as much as professional experience.
A good understanding of programming fundamentals and an interest in developing understandable, maintainable, and tested software.
Openness to AI-assisted app development. If you have already tried such tools, we are interested in what worked well and how you reviewed the results.
Initiative, enjoyment of collaboration, and a desire to get involved in an existing product and gradually take on responsibility.
Good English in spoken and written form is required for technical exchange within the team. German language skills are a big advantage, but not a prerequisite.
Willingness to work regularly on-site in Königs Wusterhausen to develop features on the device and coordinate with the team.
A degree in computer science or a comparable field, a relevant apprenticeship, or comparable skills provide a good foundation.
Whether Experienced or Just Starting Out: We Want to Get to Know You
Do you already have several years of experience in this field? Great – bring your ideas and your external perspective. Are you still at the beginning or have no professional experience in this field yet? That's also fine. If you are passionate about our product, have technical fundamentals, and can quickly learn new topics, we want to get to know you.
In either case, it is our task to integrate you well into the team and provide you with knowledge, tools, and support for a successful start. Together with Chris and the team, you will get to know our product and our processes. We will tailor tasks and responsibilities to your experience level and develop them with you.
Additional Plus Points
Experience with Firebase as a backend for apps, for example, for user login, data storage, or server-side logic.
Experience in iOS development, ideally with Swift or SwiftUI.
Knowledge of Git, automated tests, CI/CD, or connecting APIs and devices.
What You Can Look Forward To
Your own product that you can try out directly, and a visible impact on our customers' training.
A small software team, direct collaboration with CTO Christopher Klabunde, and short paths from idea to development to testing.
Room for your own ideas and professional development – with tasks that match your experience level and grow with you.
Permanent full-time position with 40 hours per week and 28 days of vacation per year.
€50,000 to €65,000 gross per year, depending on your relevant skills and experience.
Workplace Zur Heide 10 in Königs Wusterhausen near Berlin. One to two home office days per week are possible by agreement.
Your Workplace Near Berlin
Our location is Zur Heide 10 in Königs Wusterhausen. Königs Wusterhausen train station is directly connected to Berlin via the S-Bahn S46 and regional trains. The route from the station to us can be covered by bicycle. On-site, you will develop and test directly on the product; one to two home office days per week are possible by agreement.
Simply Apply
Send us your CV in German or English. A traditional cover letter is not required. A GitHub link or an app is welcome, but not a prerequisite.
If You Like: Four Short Questions
The answers are voluntary. Bullet points are sufficient – in German or English. No additional document or trial task needed.
What appeals to you about developing software for a smart sports device? What would you like to learn or advance with us?
What have you programmed or taught yourself so far? If you have already worked with Android, Firebase, or iOS: What was your personal contribution? A link is welcome.
Which AI tools have you tried when developing or learning, and how do you check the results? If you haven't used any yet: What would you like to try?
How comfortable are you with technical exchange in English? Does regular on-site work in Königs Wusterhausen suit you, and when could you start?
To get started, we will get to know each other in a short online conversation. Afterwards, we will look at your previous experience, your learning path, and the tasks at AUGLETICS together.
English-speaking applicants are welcome. English is required; German is a strong plus. You will develop Android software for our connected rowing machines and app, working closely with our CTO and a small team. Early-career developers with practical projects are welcome. Based in Königs Wusterhausen near Berlin, with one to two home-office days per week by agreement.
