Job description

Description of the post

The main function of the finance service is to manage income and expenses of MSC Canada. Ultimately, the analyst reports financial figures to the Geneva headquarters and the finance service collects and records client invoices in addition to making timely payments to our suppliers with efficiency and economy.

The commercial partner will play a key role in supporting planning and financial analysis activities within the organization. The person will be responsible for establishing accurate cost provisions and improving processes as needed. They must also analyze recurring and non-recurring costs that may be requested.

Level of responsibility

Increased responsibility due to the addition of complexity in problems and accountability to clients or commercial sectors. Increased autonomy in the role contributing significantly to team or organization projects.

Main tasks

  • Use business acumen to summarize and filter key information for production of new reports highlighting trends, determining factors, risks, and mitigation options within operational teams to make data-driven decisions.
  • Create, adapt, and modify management reports related to budgets, forecasts, or commercial activities.
  • Publish monthly and quarterly reports for the executive team and other services.
  • Analyze financial performance and develop forecasting models.
  • Analyze budget and costs. Determine cost-saving opportunities and support implementation of initiatives.
  • Create and maintain profitability models.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and automation of tools and production processes for report generation.
  • Maintain tariffs on platforms to ensure accuracy and compliance with contractual provisions.
  • Aid in creating presentations and presenting them to the executive team.
  • Oversee the closing process at the end of the month and year.
