AML/KYC Onboarding Associate - 1 Year Contract

Job description

About the Role

Our client, a leading global financial services institution, is looking for an AML/KYC Onboarding Associate to join their Anti-Money Laundering Client Due Diligence (AML/CDD) team on a 1-year contract. This team manages new client onboarding and account expansion across Global Banking and Global Markets (GBGM), ensuring AML/CDD checks are completed in line with country-specific regulatory standards and CIP/CDD procedures.

This is a great opportunity for a KYC professional to gain exposure to a wide range of financial products, markets, and stakeholders within a top-tier banking environment, while contributing to a high-performing, delivery-focused team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform document gap analysis by self-sourcing and reviewing available documentation, including public and vendor-sourced information across multiple Asian jurisdictions
  • Liaise with sales and client-facing teams to obtain and validate required documentation
  • Process AML/CDD checks by enriching onboarding requests in the system of record and conducting enhanced due diligence (EDD) where required
  • Support the creation and tracking of key business metrics
  • Partner with internal departments to resolve KYC-related issues
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects tied to new processes or industry initiatives
  • Participate in remediation exercises and internal/external audit requirements
  • Collaborate with business partners to onboard clients both locally and regionally

What We're Looking For

  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in AML/KYC, CDD, or onboarding roles
  • Strong control mindset with a solid understanding of regulatory and reputational risk; knowledge of APAC AML/CDD requirements is a plus
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive, self-starting learner committed to continuous improvement
  • Prior experience working in an Asia-Pacific or global environment
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic team setting
  • Comfortable liaising with stakeholders across all levels and backgrounds
  • Strong written and spoken English; additional language skills are an advantage
