Allround Service Engineer | From Workshop to Worldwide Installation

Job description

In Brief
Three reasons why this vacancy is unique!

  • Learn the trade in the workshop and advance to international service projects
  • Varied work: mechanical and electrical engineering
  • Compact team with short lines of communication and a lot of personal attention

The Organization
This is where you will work

This machine builder designs and builds high-quality stainless steel process lines for thermal treatments such as grilling, frying, blanching, cooking, cooling, and freezing. This is done for customers worldwide in the food industry.
The organization is part of an international group with its headquarters in Sweden and has two locations in the Netherlands: one in the Zwolle region and one in the Dordrecht region.

The Zwolle region location has about 16 colleagues, of whom 8 technicians are active in service, assembly, and engineering. Due to its small scale, the collaboration is personal and direct. You will work together on custom solutions for leading food producers who have high demands for quality, hygiene, and reliability. In this team, you will truly make a difference.

The Role
This is what you will do

As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and optimizing complete process lines at customers' premises, both domestically and internationally.
You will start in the workshop, where you will be trained step-by-step in the systems, techniques, and custom solutions. This way, you will get to know the machines inside and out and build the confidence to work independently with customers worldwide later on.

Your tasks will include:

  • Assembling, testing, and adjusting machines and installations in the workshop (training period)
  • Installing and commissioning machines at customers' premises, often internationally
  • Performing maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Guiding and advising operators and maintenance teams at the customer's site
  • Contributing ideas for technical improvements and optimizations

The Offer
This is what you get in return

You will join an organization where technology and people are central. You will be given the time to truly master the trade, without being thrown in at the deep end immediately. At the same time, you will work in an environment where quality matters, and where you can be proud of what you build and install.

You will receive, among other things:

  • A good salary up to €4,500 gross per month, depending on experience
  • 13 ATV days (reduction in working time) for a full-time employment contract
  • An intensive training program with personal guidance
  • A well-equipped service bus and modern tools
  • International working days that are standardly paid as 12 hours
  • Training and career advancement opportunities within an international environment

What we expect from you
Do you recognize yourself?

You have a technical background and the motivation to learn. You don't need to know everything yet, as long as you are curious and have the ambition to grow into an independent service engineer in an international work environment.

We require:

  • A completed MBO (vocational education) degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or equivalent
  • Technical curiosity and willingness to be trained internally
  • Experience in machine building, process technology, or automotive technology is a plus
  • Willingness to work internationally in the long term (at least 30% of your time)
  • An independent, customer-oriented, and solution-oriented attitude
  • Good command of the Dutch and English languages
