Algonaut - Forward Deployed Engineer (m/f/d)

The dominant share of orders in the B2B sector is still unstructured.
Companies receive hundreds of orders every day that differ in form and content.
To this day, these orders are manually entered into the ERP system. With algonaut,
this tedious and outdated business process is a thing of the past.
algonaut understands what customers are ordering and enters the orders
independently into our customers' ERP systems. To achieve this, we combine modern
software development and Large Language Models with a deep
understanding of our customers' specific processes. We have been on the market
with the product since the beginning of the year and are continuously gaining
new customers. That's why we are looking for reinforcement for our engineering team:
people who want to take responsibility early on and help shape the working world of
tomorrow.

Framework

• Location: Berlin (Kreuzberg)
• Start Date: flexible, from October 2026
• We are currently a team of six people who have been working together for a long time
  and enjoy meeting in our office.
• The position is initially intended as a parental leave replacement with a duration of up to
  seven months. As we are growing and require additional
  engineering capacity in the long term, there is the prospect of subsequent
  employment with a good mutual fit.

Responsibilities

Technical support for new customer implementations and onboardings

• Analysis and structuring of customer-specific requirements and business processes
• Configuration and pre-training of customer-specific product environments
• Development of integrations and tools for scaling the solution
• Translation of customer requirements into features for product development
• Close collaboration with customer contacts and the rest of the engineering team

Qualifications

What you bring:

• Practical experience in software development with Python
• In-depth knowledge of Machine Learning and LLM functionalities
• Experience in developing production-ready cloud systems
• Interest in complex business processes and the willingness to intensively familiarize yourself with the order processing domain
• Enjoyment of collaboration with customers and the ability to clearly explain technical contexts
• Willingness to take responsibility for specific implementations and their successful introduction
• Very good German language skills, both written and spoken, are a prerequisite, as you will be working directly with our customers in the DACH region

Helpful, but not required:

• Experience with the integration of APIs and external systems
• Experience with LLM frameworks, prompt engineering, or structured AI workflows
• Experience with ERP systems or business processes in wholesale and manufacturing
• Experience with evaluation and monitoring frameworks
• Understanding of data flows and the processing of structured and unstructured business documents
