JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Farm Worker

Short Description of the Position:

• Broiler Chickens
• Pecans
• Vegetable garden and gardening

Job Duties and Key Activities:

1. Remove broiler chickens' mortalities - supervise weights, weekly monitoring - monitor the ventilation and heating of the tobacco shed.
2. Manage pecan orchards - install a water system and spread the grass around the trees.
3. Maintenance of vegetable garden and gardening.

Critical Requirements:

• Knowledge and training regarding broiler chickens.
• Knowledge about pecan cultivation.
• Knowledge of vegetables and gardening.

Beneficial Requirements:

• Personal benefits may arise from this role. Additional training will be given to handle different activities.

Skills:

• Tractor driving license.
• Woodworking skills.
• Welding skills (if needed).
• Treatment of pecan beetles and diseases.
• Lime spreading.
• Ability to work with animals.

Basic Characteristics:

• Ability to carry out instructions.
• Respect and friendliness.
• Strong communication skills (problem solving).

Specific Prohibited Aspects:

• Smoking and alcohol are strictly prohibited.

Specific Aspects:

• Uncertain in some areas.
• Work will take place at different workplaces.

Employment Date: January 2, 2025

Normal Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday: 7:00 - 15:00
• Lunch: 12:00 - 13:00
• Saturday: 7:00 - 11:00
• Sunday (Broiler Chickens): 7:00 - 8:00
• Overtime must be recorded.

Working Week:

• Composite working week.

Annual Leave:

• 1 day for every 17 days worked.

Sick Leave:

• 30 sick leave days in a 3-year sick leave cycle.

Family Leave:

• 3 days per annual leave cycle.

Maternity Leave:

• Not applicable.

Notice Period:

• 1 week if less than 6 months worked.

Duration of Contract:

• Training up to 3 months; possibility of a permanent position.

Termination Date of Position: December 31, 2026

Overtime Pay Scale:

• Approximately 2 hours per week.

Any Additional Arrangement Regarding Payment:

• Bonus after a good cycle, if the average weight of the chicks is 1.7 or higher.

Frequency of Remuneration:

• Weekly.

Possibility of Promotion in the Position:

• After training and annually.

Basic Skills Training:

• Do self-training.

Place of Training:

• Our farm at specific department.

Monetary Value of Training:

• +/- R2000.

Duration of Training:

• +/- 2 to 4 months.

Other Arrangements About Training:

• A theoretical test to see how he is progressing, as well as a practical test.
