Job Description

As an AI Workflow Automation Specialist (m/f/d), you will be the central driver for our automation initiatives across all business units. You will identify automation potentials, prioritize them based on impact and feasibility, and translate them into lean, clearly documented workflows. With the help of n8n and modern AI tools, you will ensure that our operational processes become scalable, efficient, and less error-prone – and thus actively contribute to an "Automation & AI-first" culture within the company.

Key Focus Areas of Your Role

• Identification and evaluation of automation potentials in close coordination with the business units

• Design, implementation, and maintenance of workflow automations (especially with n8n) – including system integrations, triggers, and process logic

• Integration of AI functionalities into workflows (e.g., classification, text extraction, automatic responses) while adhering to GDPR and internal policies

• Conducting workshops to understand processes, gather use cases, prioritize them, and translate them into concrete automations

• Technical implementation of use cases: building and configuring workflows, connecting APIs/interfaces, and using code nodes (JavaScript/Python)

• Quality assurance, testing, rollout, and handover of automations to the business units, including brief training or hand-over

• Continuous monitoring, error analysis, and optimization of existing workflows, including building reusable components and standards

• Maintenance of a central, easily understandable documentation of all automation projects

What You Bring With You

• Experience in analyzing and modeling business processes, as well as in designing and implementing workflow and automation projects

• Solid knowledge in (generative) AI, especially in using modern AI tools, prompting, and AI-based workflows

• Very good knowledge of n8n or a high willingness to quickly develop to an advanced level

• Proficient in REST APIs, webhooks, authentication (OAuth 2.0, API Keys, JWT), JSON, and debugging interfaces

• Good programming skills in JavaScript or Python for use in code nodes, as well as experience in data mapping and transformation (including SQL knowledge)

• Understanding of IT security, data protection, and clean credential/secrets management in the context of automation, as well as experience with error handling, monitoring, and alerting in workflows

• Strong ability to explain complex technical content understandably to non-technical stakeholders, including moderating workshops and structured stakeholder management

• Structured, self-reliant, and solution-oriented way of working, high service orientation, ownership mentality, and a strong willingness to learn new technologies (German and English at least C1 level)
