Aufgaben

You will be responsible for developing and optimizing image processing and object recognition algorithms for camera-based parking space monitoring and traffic management systems on embedded platforms.

You develop high-performance software in C and C++ for microprocessor- and ARM-based systems to capture, process, and evaluate vehicle, license plate, and occupancy data in real-time.

You optimize algorithms considering limited storage and processing resources and perform profiling, debugging, and performance analysis directly on the target hardware.

Your focus lies in detecting vehicles, parking events, occupancy states, and rule violations under different environmental conditions (day/night, weather, changing lighting).

You develop procedures for data preparation and augmentation as well as generating synthetic training data for KI-based recognition models to operate robust models without dedicated hardware acceleration on embedded systems.

You integrate the developed algorithms into existing system architectures, backend interfaces, and edge devices, which is part of your responsibility.

To optimize the entire system, you work closely with the departments of hardware development, cloud backend, web frontend, and operations.

You also create technical documentation, specifications, test, and validation concepts for productive use in public and private parking spaces.

Qualifikation

You hold a completed education in the field of applied computer science (application development or system integration), electronics, information technology, or a comparable technical qualification.

You bring practical experience in software development, ideally in the context of image processing, computer vision, KI applications, or camera-based systems.

You have a secure handling of C/C++ or Python and a good understanding of software architectures and high-performance algorithms.

Experience in processing image data, object recognition, vehicle or license plate detection, and working with Linux systems are advantageous.

You have a good technical understanding of the interplay between software, camera hardware, and network systems.

You are familiar with version control (Git), debugging tools, and structured and independent work.

You work solution-oriented, are team-friendly, and bring the willingness to adapt to new technologies and application areas.

You have good German language skills and basic English language skills that round out your profile.
