AI Researcher (Mid/Senior)

Required
• Solid understanding of computer vision, and modern deep learning (e.g., CNNs, ViTs, DETR, CLIP, etc.) and underlying mathematical concepts.
• Proven experience building and training computer vision models/VLMs.
• Proven ability to read, implement, and extend state-of-the-art research papers.
• Strong grasp of model optimization, debugging, and experiment design.
• Ability to reason scientifically, run clean experiments, and draw meaningful conclusions.

Nice to Have (But Not Mandatory)
• Experience with 3D medical imaging (CT, MRI, etc.).
• Publications at top AI conferences (NeurIPS, CVPR, ICCV, MICCAI, etc.).

What You’ll Do

• Design, train, and optimize clinical-grade 3D medical imaging AI models used in real workflows, impacting tens of thousands of patients every month.
• Work daily with PyTorch, computer vision, 3D medical imaging, ViTs, DETR-style models, and other SOTA methods.
• Read, understand, and extend state-of-the-art research papers and repos - your work will evolve based on the latest breakthroughs in AI.
• Drive iterative model improvements using real feedback from radiologists.
• Leverage our ever-growing data collection and annotation pipelines, currently standing at 100+ million medical images/reports
• Contribute to Rayscape’s research output; team members have the opportunity to publish AI and medical imaging research

Important: This role is about research and model building, not MLOps, backend, DevOps, RAG, LangChain, deployment, or platform engineering.
