Aufgaben

As AI Platform Engineer (LLM / RAG), you will work on the technical basis for the use of Large Language Models and Embedding models in our Enterprise-Search- and KI-platform. Your focus lies on evaluation, quality assurance and integration – less on feature implementation, more on stability, understandability and scalability.

Your tasks include especially:

• Evaluation of new LLMs, Embedding models as well as prospective multimodal models (e.g. Vision)
• Qualitative and reproducible evaluation of model quality in the context of real corporate data (RAG scenarios)
• Evaluation, integration and updating of LLM operation and inference components (e.g. vLLM, TEI, LangChain or comparable frameworks)
• Maintenance and further development of the technical LLM platform (compatibility, stability, updates)
• Development of internal tools and aids for model, prompt, and quality evaluation
• Prompt engineering and prompt tuning for different models and application scenarios
• Evaluation and implementation of integration and interface concepts (e.g. MCP or similar standards)
• Demonstration, testing, and internal technical support for other development and product teams

Qualifikation

• You enjoy developing and operating technical platforms in the field of KI / LLM / RAG
• You have a successful university degree in (business) informatics, mathematics, natural sciences or a comparable field
• You possess practical experience with:
• Large Language Models and/or Embedding models
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• LLM frameworks, inference or serving components
• You work safely with Python and have experience in developing robust software components
• You have a good understanding of quality, understandability and limitations of KI systems
• You work structured, independently and responsibly and share your knowledge gladly in the team
• You possess very good German and English skills in writing and speaking (German native speaker or at least Level C)
