AI Platform Engineer

Do you want to work at the intersection of cloud, platform engineering, and AI? At Itility, you get the space to build a platform that helps our engineers and client teams work smarter, more efficiently, and more securely. You will not only develop new functionalities but also actively contribute to how we can use AI and automation to further improve our services.

What you will do

You will contribute to the further development of our platform and translate needs from our client teams into concrete, reusable solutions. You will work on features from the roadmap, but also identify improvements yourself.

An important part of your work is applying AI and automation. For example, you will develop AI agents that collect and analyze information, assist engineers with troubleshooting, or independently perform actions within clear frameworks. You will ensure that these solutions do not remain a proof of concept but are actually used in production.

You will be involved in, among other things:

• Designing and developing new platform functionalities.

• Further developing our central dashboard and management environment.

• Building AI agents, agentic workflows, APIs, and integrations.

• Developing and improving Terraform modules and other automations.

• Setting up human-in-the-loop processes, approvals, and guardrails.

• Analyzing and automating recurring operational tasks.

• Providing support during incidents, troubleshooting, and changes when necessary.

You will be given the space to identify improvement opportunities yourself, develop ideas, and realize solutions. In doing so, you will always consider security, reliability, and manageability.

Where will you end up?

You will be part of the Platform Team within our MSP organization. This team develops and manages the central services that our client teams rely on. The platform forms the basis for our cloud, data, and AI services and helps engineers to perform their work efficiently, securely, and consistently.

Within the team, we work with, among others:

• Microsoft Azure and AWS for cloud, data, and AI foundations.

• Terraform for Infrastructure as Code and reusable infrastructure modules.

• LogicMonitor for central monitoring.

• Puppet for configuration management.

• Central dashboards and tooling for the management and exposure of our platform services.

We will continue to invest in the further development of this platform. We want AI and automation to play an increasingly larger role, so that our engineers spend less time on repetitive tasks and have more time for complex issues and innovation.

First and foremost, you are a hands-on engineer. You enjoy designing and building solutions yourself, but you also look beyond the individual ticket. You take initiative, actively seek collaboration with the teams that use our platform, and identify where processes and services can be improved.

You think in terms of reusable solutions and regularly ask yourself how tasks can be organized more smartly. You do not lose sight of security, reliability, and manageability.

What you bring;

• A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science/ AI, or equivalent,

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and/or AWS, with in-depth experience in at least one of them.

• Experience with Python, .NET, or a similar programming language.

• Experience with APIs and integrations.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.

• Knowledge of AI and LLM solutions and an interest in or experience with AI agents and agentic workflows.

• Experience with CI/CD and modern software development methodologies.

• A proactive attitude, ownership, and the motivation to identify and realize improvement opportunities yourself.

Nice to have;

Experience with one or more of the following technologies and topics is a plus:

• Azure OpenAI, Azure AI services, AWS Bedrock, or other AWS AI services.

• LogicMonitor and Puppet.

• Observability and event-driven architectures.

• Multi-tenant platforms.

• Working within an MSP environment.
