AI Innovation Consultant (m/f/d)

We are WE BUILD AI from Cologne and build AI and Data Solutions for medium-sized businesses and corporations in Germany. With us, systems are created that go into production and earn or save money.

We started last year and grew by 160 percent. This year we are at 100 percent. We are building a company that will continue to grow in the coming years.

Why this role is different

Most AI projects fail early because no one asks the right questions. You are the person who takes care of exactly that. You sit with our customers in the problem space, sort out ambiguity, and lead the group to a solution that can actually be built.

Classic consulting with huge analysis decks is not our thing. With us, you are hands-on, from the first question to the concept that goes into implementation. And if a path doesn't work, you say so early and clearly.

Tasks

• You lead our Solution Design Sprints, from research through facilitation to the finished concept.
• You guide customers through uncertainty and moderate the path to a solution that can be built.
• You condense complex results into a clear story and build presentations that are at the right level of detail.
• You develop user-centered concepts and prototypes that our team implements technically.
• You occasionally give workshops or training sessions at the customer's site, if a project requires it.
• You engage in pitches and proposals with our CEO Frederic and bring in the content depth.

Qualifications

• Experience with user-centered work, for example in Service Design, Product Design, UX, or innovation processes.
• You ask good questions and stay in the problem space before jumping to solutions.
• You get complex results to the point and tell them in a way that decision-makers can follow.
• You feel comfortable in front of customers, take a position, and sometimes say what doesn't work.
• A feel for how digital products look and function. You don't need pixel perfection for that.
• First contact with AI, or the honest curiosity to quickly get up to speed.
• Fluent German and good English, because our projects are in the DACH region.

This is how the application process works

Three steps, transparent and without surprises.

1. Get-to-know-you call with Frederic, approx. 30 minutes. We talk about you, about us, and see if the foundation is right.
2. Take-home assignment plus presentation in a call, 45 to 60 minutes. You work on an assignment that matches what you would actually do with us.
3. In-person meeting in Cologne. Shared meal, insights into our projects, and sparring with the team.
