AI Implementation Intern (Distribution)

Wilmar Distribution Pte Ltd (WDPL) is the distribution arm of Wilmar International, one of Asia's leading agribusiness groups. Our Singapore operations oversee the end-to-end distribution of food ingredients and consumer products across modern trade, general trade, and foodservice channels. Role Overview This internship is designed for students interested in applying Generative AI, automation, and process digitalisation to real-world distribution and supply chain operations. The intern will be responsible for working closely with our team to identify opportunities for AI implementation, developing proof-of-concepts, and collaborating on projects that leverage AI to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer experience. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct research and analysis on the current state of AI applications in distribution and supply chain management; • Develop a comprehensive understanding of WDPL's business operations and identify areas where AI can be applied to drive value; • Collaborate with our team to design and develop proof-of-concepts for AI implementation, including data preparation, model development, and testing; • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements, and develop solutions that meet those needs; • Present findings and recommendations to the team and stakeholders; • Assist in the development of a roadmap for AI implementation across WDPL's operations. Requirements: • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field; • Strong understanding of Generative AI concepts and applications; • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, or Julia; • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js; • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
