Job description
Your Role
We are a small, agile marketing team. Everyone here takes ownership, develops their own strategies, and implements them themselves. Since we have been consistently working with AI, we see significantly more opportunities for growth than we can currently handle. That's why we're bringing someone on board who will take an overarching view, identify the biggest levers, and take them into their own hands.
You will be responsible for growth projects end-to-end, on existing channels and on new ones you find yourself. You will build yourself, deploy live yourself in the app, in the App Store, or on the website, and then analyze the data. The processes are short, the complete project cycle is yours.
Your tasks:
- Identify opportunities in our products. You regularly go through the website, app stores, content, job boards, and the funnel up to premium and find the areas with the biggest leverage for registrations and revenue.
- Recognize opportunities in the market. You also look externally: What trends and platforms are currently engaging our target audience, which segments or markets are worth entering, which growth channels should we activate that we are not currently using, and what are competitors doing.
- Evaluate and prioritize opportunities. You will estimate beforehand what is realistically achievable and what the benefits are, and present a shortlist to the team.
- Build and deploy yourself. You will build landing pages, tests, and campaign components with AI and publish them yourself. No tickets for engineering, no waiting for design, no queue.
- Test and measure. You will set up A/B tests on the website, in the app stores, and on our other platforms, analyze them cleanly, and iterate.
- App Store Optimization. You will continuously test screenshots, icons, titles, and descriptions.
- Acquisition and early funnel. Your focus is on acquiring new users. Together with the Product Team, you will assess which target groups and channels bring the best LTV, and then improve the signup and activation flows in the early funnel.
- Copy and messaging. You will formulate what StudySmarter offers to learners in a way that resonates with our target audience and converts. Headlines on landing pages, ad copy, video scripts, poster designs, and more.
- Content and campaigns with AI. AI content projects, brand building for our job boards, out-of-home campaigns.
- Build a Love Brand. Together with us, you will develop a global love brand for B2C and B2B and help shape how StudySmarter looks and sounds.
What the role is not
- Not a classic design role. Taste and brand judgment are important, but the technical execution is done via AI and freelancers.
- Not a performance marketing job. Channels, budget, bidding, and attribution are handled elsewhere in the team.
- Not a briefing role. You do the work yourself instead of delegating it.
- Not a product role. You are not a product manager. You are responsible for user acquisition and work closely with the Product Team for this, without taking on product responsibility.
- Not a leadership role. You work closely within the marketing team and with the founding team, but you do not lead any employees yourself. However, you will have significantly more scope for creative freedom.
What you need for this role
- Strong AI skills. You work daily with AI tools like Claude Code, Codex, or similar, as well as with agents and automation. You build your own pages, tools, and workflows and deploy them yourself, rather than just writing prompts.
- Strong copywriting and storytelling. You write texts that stand out and convert, and find the
words that resonate with students. You think in stories and benefits, not in feature lists. - Independence and speed. You take on a topic and see it through. You prefer ten things live and measured to two perfect ones. Understanding of numbers. You read funnels yourself, work with analytics tools, and honestly evaluate tests, even if
the result contradicts your idea. - An eye for design. You can recognize what looks good and what doesn't, and can assess when design
drives conversion and when it's just decoration. You are familiar with Figma. - Basic marketing understanding. You know how Paid, SEO, and Lifecycle fundamentally work. You will learn the details of individual channels here.
- Native-level German. You write for our target audience on landing pages, in
ads, in the app stores, and offline. This is not possible without a real feel for the language. - Your own projects that you can showcase. Pages, tools, content, side projects. This tells us more than a CV.
We look at skills, execution, speed, creativity, and ambition, not the number of years of experience. Strong
graduates are expressly welcome, as are profiles with several years of experience.
