AI Engineering Intern

The German healthcare system processes €341 billion every year – with processes built for the fax machine. We're building the AI that replaces it.

Doctario develops KI infrastructure for medical billing: highly regulated, extremely complex, and almost entirely manual. Our product is live, customers are working productively with it, and demand is growing faster than our team.

In less than four weeks, we've completed a seed financing round just under the seven-figure mark. Now we're building the AI-Engineering team that scales this infrastructure.

Why join now?

You won't be working on a proof of concept – you'll be building KI systems that are already in production and making real decisions. You'll come into a phase where your architectural decisions will lay the foundation for everything else. Few meetings, little bureaucracy – instead, you'll have genuine ownership and direct impact. We're looking for someone who can join quickly.

Aufgaben

You'll build full-stack features end-to-end – from UI to API to KI integration. You'll translate medical billing requirements into practical, functioning software. You'll work on your own projects with a clear scope and support the team on larger initiatives.

You understand how to use AI as a tool – not to train models from scratch, but to build intelligent products that people really use. You'll work closely with the founders, make pragmatic decisions, and take responsibility for what you build.

Qualifikation

You have coding experience – ideally within an informatics or comparable degree program – and have already built your own projects, whether in school, as a side project, or during an internship. You work with Python and/or TypeScript and are comfortable with modern KI tools (LLMs, AI APIs, coding agents). You think entrepreneurially, want to get things built, and won't shy away from venturing into uncharted territory. You speak German at a native level – necessary because we're close to the customer and regulatory requirements.
