AI Engineer (R&D, AI Agents)

We at Base.com are building a SaaS platform for e-commerce companies. This is an author software that contains WMS, PIM, ERP, and OMS functions - warehouse management, pick&pack, invoicing, creating shipments, offering on all sales channels, and many more.

We are a Polish company whose product is used worldwide. We work in a remote model not only in Poland but also in the United States, Brazil, India, China, Czech Republic, Romania, England, and France.

Our guiding idea is product-first - most of our operational attention goes towards developing the product. Our CEO/founder has a programming background. We don't like bureaucracy or ineffective processes. Our main programming principles are KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) and YAGNI (You aren't gonna need it). We are a technology company run by deeply technical people. Despite growing team size, we do everything to maintain the highest efficiency.

We have been trying to be pioneers in applying AI to internal company activities for some time now. We believe that this technology will change the way we work. We invest a lot of time and energy into preparing datasets and researching the best structure for our internal agents.

Requirements

• 4+ years of programming experience in any programming language. Knowledge of programming concepts and experience in creating workflows/algorithms is important.
• 1+ year of close following the AI world. You must be up-to-date with all the latest news and possibilities of LLM, when working on research agents.
• Experience with creating AI agents (e.g. from previous workplace). It's best if you're someone who initiated the implementation of agents in an organization.
• Knowledge and experience using models such as GPT, Gemini, and Claude
• Experience with prompt engineering, MCP, and tool calling
• Knowledge of vectors bases
• Knowledge of data bases (SQL, noSQL) and cache (Redis)
• Daily practical use of Claude Code, Cursor or similar (not about code review, but working with an agent)

• Knowledge of Docker and CI/CD tools
• Knowledge of cloud solutions (AWS/GCP)
• Understanding of Open Source solutions
• Knowledge of Python / Node.js
• Experience with real-time / live API

• Creating and developing internal AI agents
• Research on optimal workflow, RAG, and LLM prompts
• Creating benchmarks and trying to saturate them by optimizing agent work
• Work in different programming languages (depending on the moment's needs)
• Cersistent following AI development and testing new possibilities
• Sharing achievements and experiences with the team
