AI Engineer (m/w/d)

Your Role

As an AI Engineer at gocomo, you will be responsible for the KI systems behind alfred, our Enterprise-SaaS product for Social-Media Analytics. alfred processes thousands of user inquiries monthly through a conversational KI interface and analyzes over 750,000 content items from various platforms.

In a small, interdisciplinary team (5-10 people), you will be the central point of contact for all KI-related topics. You will work closely with frontend-, data-, and infrastructure teams to develop features that directly address the needs of our customers.

Your Tasks

• Development and operation of a production-ready RAG agent (FastAPI) for processing customer inquiries and routing to specialized sub-agents (Text2SQL, API integrations, vector search over social media data)
• Conceptualization, implementation, and scaling of a multimodal data enrichment service for automated categorization and annotation of social media content (LLMs, computer vision, audio transcription)
• Building and further development of the Alfred Hub as a customer-oriented platform for KI-based workflows, particularly for combining data retrieval and annotation
• Participation in architecture decisions in the areas of retrieval, routing, evaluation, and deployment, as well as definition of the company's technical KI strategy
• Further development of our KI products: requirement definition, development, deployment, monitoring, and continuous optimization based on user feedback
• Mentorship of a junior AI engineer, including technical guidance, code reviews, and promotion of individual professional development

Your Profile

• You have demonstrable experience in developing and using RAG systems or AI agents (beyond prototypes)
• You possess very good Python skills and have practical experience with FastAPI
• You are well-versed with common LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar) particularly in the areas of prompt engineering, function calling, and handling costs and latency optimization
• You feel comfortable being responsible for the entire stack of a KI system – from data pipelines to model integration and API design to deployment and observability
• You possess fluent German skills at C2 level and very good English skills
• Ideal candidates will also bring experience with multimodal KI systems (e.g., computer vision), modern AI frameworks, and tools from our stack as well as social media analytics; experience in dynamic, rapidly growing teams is also a plus
