AI Engineer (Human)

As an AI Engineer, you will use AI agents to build features across repositories, languages, and systems that truly help our customers. You will always retain responsibility for the outcome: the AI assists, you decide.

Your Role

• You develop new features spec-first: You define requirements and edge cases, implement them with AI, critically review them, and deliver in small, clean steps.
• With AI support, you will quickly familiarize yourself with unknown codebases and languages and refactor across repositories.
• You will securely and cleanly integrate external APIs, cloud services (AWS/GCP/Azure), and SaaS tools, including secrets and access management.
• You will take responsibility for reliability: monitoring, structured debugging, and secure releases (feature flags, rollbacks), so that problems are identified before customers notice them.
• You will work directly with Product, Design, and non-technical stakeholders and turn unclear requirements into clear solutions.
• You will make the entire team more AI-fit by sharing your prompts, workflows, and learnings in code reviews and team syncs.

What we like

• Several years of experience as a Software Engineer and a solid foundation in clean, testable code
• Hands-on experience with AI coding agents and a healthy skepticism towards unchecked output
• Experience with API and cloud integrations, as well as with monitoring and debugging in production
• Pragmatism: realistic commitments, addressing blockers early, and maintaining quality even under time pressure
• Open communication: You address concerns with data and then fully commit (Disagree & Commit)
• A healthy approach to mistakes: You learn from them, share them openly, and use them to improve processes
• Very good English skills; German is a plus
