AI Engineer (Healthcare Infrastructure)

The German healthcare system processes €341 billion every year – with processes built for the fax machine. We're building the AI that will replace it.

Doctario develops KI infrastructure for medical billing: highly regulated, extremely complex, and almost entirely manual. Our product is live, customers are working productively with it, and demand is growing faster than our team.

In less than four weeks, we've completed a seed financing round just below the seven-figure mark. Now we're building the AI engineering team that will scale this infrastructure.

You won't be working on a proof of concept – you'll be building KI systems that are already in production and making real decisions. You'll come into a phase where your architectural decisions will lay the foundation for everything else. Few meetings, little bureaucracy – instead, you'll have genuine ownership and direct impact. Aufgaben

You design and build KI/ML pipelines that function reliably in production – no notebooks, no demos, but software that customers rely on. You translate complex medical billing requirements into intelligent, robust systems. You work end-to-end: from model design to integration with the backend to monitoring in production.

You work closely with product and business teams, make pragmatic technical decisions, and take responsibility for what you build – including error analysis, iteration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifikation

You've built KI/ML-based applications and brought them into production – whether in a job, as a side project, or in your own startup. You understand how to get from a model to a reliable system: data quality, evaluation, deployment, monitoring. Your software engineering is solid: APIs, data models, system architecture. You work with Python and/or TypeScript. You're fluent in German – necessary because we work closely with customers and regulatory requirements.
