AI Engineer - Dealflow (m/f/d)

As an AI Engineer - Dealflow, you will develop and be responsible for the product or tool with which we build our proprietary deal flow in the investment team in the DACH software and tech mid-market. Your goal: to identify and reach attractive companies and their shareholders early, ideally before an M&A advisor is mandated or a broad sales process is initiated.

In doing so, you will combine two worlds: AI skills and deal origination. You will build the data, tool, and reporting infrastructure on which Market Maps, outbound campaigns, and potential investments, as well as a scalable sourcing process, are based. You will work closely with our FLEX Leadership Team, the Investment Team, and the Data & AI Team, and you will receive a lot of ownership from day one for building a central function at FLEX.

• You will build and be responsible for the AI product/tool that continuously fills our origination funnel with software and technology companies in the German mid-market. You will continuously develop and iteratively improve it.
• You will develop the screening and prioritization logic for targets and systematically improve their hit quality.
• You will expand the automated data procurement and enrichment so that targets are enriched with firmographics and ownership structures.
• You will develop logic and workflows to detect intent signals and potential sales interest.
• You will initiate automated multichannel outreach and further develop the underlying processes.
• You will build dashboards and reports on funnel, activities, and conversion as a basis for our sourcing and pipeline reviews.
• You will evaluate new prospecting and sourcing tools and further develop outreach, sequences, and our messaging library.

• You have built your own tools and automations that were in productive use, not just prototypes and demos.
• You have at least 2-3 years of experience in building AI-based products/tools.
• You develop independently in Python and deploy with Docker on Azure in production. You know LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude) from practical experience and know where they work reliably and where they don't (yet).
• You already have experience working with CRM data and know what is important regarding data quality and structure. Knowledge of Pipedrive, agent systems, and frameworks like LangGraph is a plus.
• You think commercially: You understand why a target is relevant and measure yourself by results.
• You have successfully completed a degree in Business Informatics, Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a comparable STEM field.
• You speak German and English fluently.
