AI Developer (m/f/d)

Metanoia IT develops software and scalable SaaS solutions for a select number of established core customers – SaaS and medium-sized companies with their own software, spin-offs, and in-house projects. We work AI-natively and integrate AI into products precisely where it creates real added value.

Responsibilities

You are responsible for LLM-based features from start to finish – from the prompt to what the user ultimately receives – and you care whether the output is truly good. You quickly bring ideas into a working state instead of waiting for the perfect specification, and you stick with it until it holds up in production.

• You build product-oriented features across the entire stack – with a clear tendency towards delivering and iterating rather than endless fine-tuning.
• You work on our multi-LLM pipeline and make conscious decisions regarding model selection, costs, and latency.
• You build evaluation loops against real output: define baselines, iterate, and be able to demonstrate what has measurably improved.
• You are responsible for the traceability of our LLM systems – tracing per step and prompt provenance – so that bad output can be traced back to the call that generated it.
• You design human-in-the-loop agent workflows: agents suggest, the human decides. Nothing goes live autonomously.
• You prototype quickly, then harden it, and bring your own work into production – including configuration, feature flags, and scheduled jobs.
• You contribute your own product ideas instead of just working through tickets.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable product sense and speed: You deliver working things and make pragmatic trade-offs.
• AI-native work in everyday life (Claude, Cursor) as a real workflow, not a demo. Practical experience with LLM orchestration (Function Calling, Agents, Evaluation).
• You have traced LLM behavior in production and found a real bug with it.
• You can explain when a deterministic pipeline is a better choice than an agent.
• Willingness to take responsibility for deploying your own work.
• Fluent German.
