AI Automation Engineer – Marketing & Operations Consulting (m/f/d) in Stuttgart, Hamburg or Berlin – Hybrid
Job description
To further expand our business, we are looking for dedicated colleagues – this time for a role that has never existed before.
We have already initiated a lot around AI and automation – and are looking for you to noticeably accelerate these steps. Instead of a wild proliferation of tools, we develop our own integrated systems based on AI and automation for sales and operations. In addition, AI assistants, automated analyses from Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, and our SEO tools are growing, as well as reports that write themselves and improve through Human in the Loop. A large part of the customer work of our over 60 colleagues is and remains manual labor.
Do you read an API documentation and have a running prototype two hours later? Do you understand why an SEA manager looks at data differently than an SEO – and can you explain to a colleague without a technical background how they can operate the result themselves from tomorrow on? Do you not think of AI as a gimmick, but as a system that needs to be documented, compliant with data protection, and stable in operation? Then you are exactly right with us.
To expand our AI and automation area, we are looking for you as an AI Automation Engineer – Marketing & Operations Consulting (m/f/d).
You will develop and operate the AI and automation systems that our teams use daily – and bring the same expertise to our customer projects, from marketing technology questions to consulting on automation. Your way of working is AI Engineering paired with Vibe Coding: You know how to set up, operate, and secure a system cleanly – and yet you achieve a runnable result in days instead of quarters, because you naturally use AI as a tool during construction. You connect tools, create the data foundation on which these systems can work meaningfully at all, and enable colleagues and customers to work with them. This is how possibilities become measurably saved hours.

Your Tasks
- Build and operate: You further develop our internal AI systems – assistants, agents, automated workflows – from the first prototype to productive operation. You build yourself, with Claude Code, Cursor, or whatever you use to get results fastest. And you keep what you've built alive: monitoring, error cases, costs, quality of results. Built quickly does not mean disposable here.
- Connect systems, create context: You wire our tools together – Google Ads API, Meta Marketing API, SEO tools, our CRM, Google Workspace, MCP servers. You ensure that our AI systems work with the correct data. This is the real leverage: a model is only as good as the context it receives.
- Customer projects and marketing technology: You advise our customers on their marketing technology stack: which systems they really need, how shop, CRM, and advertising platforms interact, where data feeds and interfaces belong. You conceptualize customer-specific automations and AI use cases and implement them together with our specialist teams – from feasibility questions in pitches to solutions that run at the customer's site.
- Consulting on marketing and automation: You conduct workshops with customers, find out where time and data quality are lost in their processes, and translate this into concrete measures. What proves itself internally, you develop into a consulting offer that we can sell.
- Tracking, consent, and analytics: You set up tracking and analytics setups, integrate consent management cleanly, and above all consolidate marketing data from its many sources – advertising platforms, SEO tools, shop, CRM – into a unified picture. You automate what needs to be generated regularly from this: the presentation that assembles itself from campaign data, the reporting that is ready in the spreadsheet by Tuesday morning. And you don't just stop at the numbers, but read from the data what they say about campaigns, target groups, and budgets, and turn it into recommendations that teams and customers can act on.
- Automate quality checks and audits: You automate our internal quality assurance – campaign, tracking, and account setups are checked regularly by machine instead of someone working through checklists. Deviations are noticed before a customer notices them. You turn recurring error patterns into rules that run permanently.
- Enablement and coaching: You train and support the teams, continuously and close to the actual work, not in one-off workshops. You write playbooks, manuals, and documentation that even someone who wasn't there can understand. And you recognize which manual work is worth automating and which is better left as manual work.
- Compliance, data protection, and confidentiality: You help decide which AI providers and models we use and where customer data may end up. You bring GDPR, the EU AI Act, and our confidentiality agreements into a form that the team can work with in everyday life. You document our systems so that they remain auditable and handover-ready.
- External interface: Where we don't build ourselves, you manage external developers, service providers, and tool providers – from requirements to acceptance to operation. On the customer side, you are also the person who speaks with IT departments and technical partners at eye level and translates between marketing requirements and technical implementation.
- Innovation: You observe what's happening with models, agent frameworks, and marketing APIs, soberly assess new features, and decide which of them deserve productive operation with us – and which do not.
So that we don't waste each other's time:
- Not a pure consulting role. You advise customers, but you also build yourself every week.
- Not a classic developer job. You don't sit in an isolated sprint, but between specialist teams and customers.
- Not a prompt engineering job. Prompts are a tool, not the product.
Requirements
Your Profile
- In recent years, you have built automations or AI applications that were in productive use. Show us two or three of them.
- You work with AI-assisted development, keyword Vibe Coding – and can simultaneously assess what comes out of it: TypeScript or Python, REST APIs, OAuth, Git, databases. You don't have to be a software architect, but a stack trace shouldn't scare you, and generated code doesn't go into production unchecked by you.
- Practical experience with LLM APIs: Tool Use, structured outputs, embeddings, evaluating result quality, and a feel for token costs.
- Understanding of digital marketing. You know what a campaign structure is, what a visibility index means, and why attribution is complicated.
- Security in web analytics: You can set up a clean, consent-compliant tracking setup, merge data sources, and derive a recommendation from the results – not just build a dashboard.
- Experience with automation platforms like n8n, Make, or Zapier – and an opinion on when to use them and when to build yourself.
- You enjoy being in front of customers: You can present a technical solution in such a way that even marketing management understands what they will gain from it, and you will say no if an idea is not profitable.
- You can explain: clearly, patiently, without jargon where it's not necessary.
- You document without being asked.
- Native German and fluent English for all documentation.
- Willingness to attend occasional appointments with customers and at our other locations.
Nice to have
- Practical experience with the Google Ads API or the Meta Marketing API.
- Experience with MCP servers or custom agent setups.
- Google Apps Script, Slides API, Sheets API.
- Experience with SEO tools like Sistrix, Semrush, or DataForSEO.
- Analytics stack: GA4, Google Tag Manager, Server-Side Tagging, BigQuery, Looker Studio.
- Further marketing technology experience: Consent management platforms like Usercentrics or Cookiebot, CDPs, or marketing automation systems.
- Agency background, so that customer project reality doesn't surprise you.
- Exposure to GDPR topics, order processing, or IT security.
- A newly created role with real creative freedom and direct access to management
- A budget for tools and models that fits this work, plus time for experimentation
- And of course tokens – more than you can use ;-)
- Great team spirit, collegial atmosphere, flat hierarchies
- Exciting projects with well-known brands from e-commerce, industry, and consumer brands
- Flexible working hours and home office/remote options
- Company pension scheme, Germany ticket subsidy, company discount, and subsidy for Urban Sports Club/Wellpass membership
- Modern central workplace in Stuttgart, Hamburg, or Berlin
- Onboarding program and regular training opportunities
- A comprehensive benefits package including a MacBook and a modernly equipped work environment

Application Process
You don't want to talk about AI, but build something with it that over 60 colleagues use every day – and advise our customers to take the same step? Then we look forward to receiving your application.
You can skip a classic cover letter – we look forward to seeing work samples from you! Instead, show us what you've built – a repository, a tool, an automation setup, preferably with a few sentences about what it was intended for and what went wrong. Alternatively, we welcome a short introductory video.
