AI Application Engineer (m/w/d): Full-Stack, Schwerpunkt Backend

We are looking for an experienced developer who can build robust, KI-stützte Lösung that really gets used?

You open your notebook, review existing workflows and think about how to create a prototype with KI or automation. Maybe a small application that bundles information or answers routine questions intelligently and relieves teams.

You start with a first prototype, write code in Python and test how data can be processed over an interface. Over time, this develops into a functioning workflow. In exchange with the AI & Digital Team, you adjust the solution, integrate a LLM-API or add a simple surface that allows colleagues and customers to intuitively use the tool.

If everything runs smoothly, prepare for deployment, document the solution, and develop it iteratively further – with the goal of making concrete added value measurable in daily work and customer projects.

Your contribution to intelligent solutions

As AI Application Engineer (m/w/d), you develop KI-stützte Webanwendungen und Services for internal teams and customer projects – with a focus on Python-Backend, LLM-API-Integration, Datenbankanbindung, and stable operation. You bring prototypes structured into productive, durable solutions. Your various roles:

• Anwendungsentwickler*in: You develop and expand KI-based applications – such as chatbots, assistants or automations – and bring them from the idea to the productive use.
• Backend-Spezialist*in: You set server-side logic in Python, bind LLM-APIs and other systems over interfaces, and ensure clean, understandable code structures.
• Full-Stack Developer with a focus on Backend: You build simple web surfaces for internal tools or prototypes, connect them to the backend, and pay attention to functionality and user-friendliness.
• Stabilisator*in in operation: You analyze errors, take adjustments, and ensure the smooth operation of your applications – including deployment on server or cloud environments.
• Prototyper*in with system understanding: You work on proof-of-concepts, test new approaches, and gradually bring them into durable solutions.

Qualifikation

Your strengths – for us and our customers

• Backend competence in Python: You master Python securely and have experience in developing web applications or interfaces, ideally with FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• KI- and API-experience: You have already worked with LLM-APIs or bring the curiosity to dive deep into such technologies.
• Data understanding: You work securely with relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL and know the basics of data modeling.
• Frontend fundamentals: You can implement simple web surfaces with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript or bring the willingness to learn modern frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular.
• Versionsverwaltung & Deployment: You work routinely with Git and team workflows and have first experience in deploying applications on servers or cloud environments.
• Sicherheitsbewusstsein: You go responsibly with authentication, API-keys, and sensitive data and pay attention to secure, stable applications.
• Strukturierte Arbeitsweise: You can translate professional requirements into technical solutions, work independently and reliably, and maintain your processes clear and understandable.
• Problemlösungsstärke: You recognize dependencies, find pragmatic ways, and develop stable, usable solutions.
• Lernfreude & Technologiebegeisterung: You are interested in generative KI, modern web development, and cloud services and bring the motivation to continuously develop yourself.
• Sprachen: You speak German well and English very well.
