Agent for Procurement - Furniture Industry (Eastern Europe)

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and proactive person to fill the position of agent for procurement in the furniture industry, based in Poland. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and managing suppliers in Eastern Europe, focusing on cost-effectiveness, quality assurance, and long-term cooperation. This role requires strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of production practices, and frequent travel to visit suppliers, assess production capabilities, and maintain relationships.   • Searching for new furniture producers and material suppliers in Eastern Europe.
  • Conducting market research to obtain current information on industry trends, new suppliers, and competitive prices.
  • Auditing suppliers and evaluating their capabilities to ensure quality production, efficiency, and compliance with regulations.

  • Negotiating prices, discussing contracts, and preparing SLA agreements to ensure favorable terms.
  • Establishing and maintaining clear service level agreements (SLAs) that meet the expectations of quality, delivery, and costs.
  • Ensuring compliance with all supplier agreements, company strategy, goals, and standards.

  • BUILDING AND MAINTAINING STRONG, LONG-TERM, AND EFFECTIVE RELATIONSHIPS WITH PRODUCERS AND PARTNERS.
  • Monitoring supplier performance under SLAs, KPIs, and quality indicators; striving for continuous improvement.
  • Coodinating actions related to resolving quality issues, delays, or disruptions in the supply chain.

  • Regular travel to Eastern Europe to visit suppliers, participate in factory inspections, monitor production, and strengthen relationships.
  • Conducting on-site evaluations to verify process capabilities, product quality, and compliance with schedules.

  • Tight collaboration with development teams, logistics, and quality assurance to align procurement strategy with business needs.
  • Presenting detailed cost analyses, time estimates, and reports on procurement to the company's management.
Requirements

WYMAGANIA

  • Documented experience as an agent/specialist for procurement or supply chain specialist — ideally with experience in the furniture industry or consumer goods production.
  • Strong negotiation skills backed by experience in procuring competitive prices and favorable contract terms.
  • Excellent communication skills in Polish and English (additional Eastern European languages will be a plus).
  • In-depth knowledge of production processes, materials, and manufacturing standards for furniture.
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently to Eastern Europe.
  • Experience in auditing suppliers and evaluating compliance with regulations.
  • Knowledge of logistics, quality control procedures, and best practices in supply chain management.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems or procurement management systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to evaluate suppliers based on quality, cost, and reliability indicators.
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and make decisions based on data.
