What you will do at Movares

• research how structural platforms can be designed smarter, more sustainably, and circularly;

• analyze existing platforms and innovative solutions with new materials;

• map out opportunities for cost savings, reduced material usage, and faster construction;

• work out optimizations and test technical feasibility;

• advise on next steps and present your research results to experts.

Structural platforms play an important role in a reliable railway. Together with specialists from Movares and ProRail, you will research how these platforms can be designed smarter and more sustainably. You will compare existing solutions with innovative alternatives, such as composite structures, and translate your findings into concrete improvements for practice.

For this vacancy, you bring:

• you are following a higher vocational (HBO) or university (WO) education in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering;

• you have knowledge of structures, material properties, statics, or dynamics;

• you are curious and investigative, ask sharp questions, and substantiate choices;

• you are collaborative, easily seek cooperation, and share insights clearly.

Additionally, every second Tuesday of the month, you can join the Café van de Toekomst: an inspiration session where you, together with your colleagues, will be updated on topics and projects that are happening within our organization. And that's not all: you can make use of our own Academy with over 3,000 different learning paths, training courses, and e-learning modules.

Your team at Movares

There is a place for you as a Graduation Intern Structural Platforms in our Integral Design department, within the W-installations team.

Within this team, colleagues with various technical backgrounds collaborate on sustainable and future-proof solutions for the railway. You will join an open and committed work environment where knowledge sharing is a given. During your graduation internship, you will work closely with specialists in the fields of structures, geotechnics, and dynamics. You will also have contact with ProRail and suppliers. The atmosphere is substantively strong, yet at the same time approachable. You will be given ample opportunity to conduct independent research, test ideas, and discuss your results with experienced colleagues. This way, you will directly experience how your research can make an impact on tomorrow's rail infrastructure.
