Each assignment has its own team that will guide you daily. This way, you put your knowledge into practice and kickstart your career with us.

Possible Graduation Assignments

1. Continuous performance & load testing (Engineering)
BAS World wants to increase the number of vehicle advertisements online by approximately 20 times. In this assignment, you will ensure that our websites and systems can handle that growth. You will investigate which (AI-driven) testing tools fit our stack. Then, together with the IDP team, you will build a test suite that runs automatically daily in the pipeline. The result is a production-ready test setup and advice on bottlenecks and capacity.
Suitable for: Software Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure.

2. Small AI agents for the business (Data / AI engineering)
In this assignment, you will work as an internal consultant within one department, for example, Logistics. You will speak with users, map out their processes and bottlenecks, and determine where AI delivers the most value. Then you will build one or more small AI agents based on the services and data we already have. You will test and improve them until they are actually used in daily work.
Suitable for: AI, Data Science, Business IT, Software Engineering, if you like working closely with end-users.

3. Realtime monitoring & bottleneck analysis for Thinkwise applications (Engineering)
Several core applications run on the low-code platform Thinkwise. When users report slowness, it currently takes weeks to find the cause. In this assignment, you will build monitoring that provides real-time insight into performance across the entire stack: from UI and application layer to database and network. This performance will be displayed live on a screen in the developers' workspace. Additionally, you will develop reporting and analysis tooling that allows developers to pinpoint and resolve bottlenecks exactly where they occur. This way, we will find problems in hours instead of weeks.
Suitable for: Software Engineering, Infrastructure, DevOps, with an interest in performance and observability.

4. Problem management & ITSM process optimization (System & Application Management)
Our Service Desk and the S&AM team receive many notifications in Jira. Recurring problems are still too rarely solved at the source. In this assignment, you will map out and document the ITSM processes: process flows, work instructions, and roles. You will assess them against best practices such as ITIL. Then you will design and implement problem management as a fixed process, so that recurring issues disappear structurally.
Suitable for: Business IT & Management, IT Service Management, or related fields.

5. Data-driven lead generation with FleetCareXL & BAS World (Product)
Through FleetCareXL, we know exactly how vehicles are maintained and what that costs. The sales history of BAS World tells us a lot about residual values. In this assignment, you will combine these two data sources into a proof of concept. This will calculate the ideal replacement moment: when maintenance costs start to rise while the residual value is still high. This will result in cost savings for customers and leads for sales and purchasing. The assignment can also be approached from the other direction. Then you will investigate how we can actively offer FleetGuide self-service or full-service to BAS World customers.
Suitable for: Data Science, Business Analytics, Software Engineering, with commercial interest.

In short: a lot of responsibility, a lot of collaboration, and an assignment with real impact.
