As a Knowledge Management Advisor, within the Defense Procurement Academy, you will contribute to the establishment and execution of procurement training programs, training courses, and general courses.

What will you do?

As a Knowledge Management Advisor within the Defense Procurement Academy, you will contribute to the development and strengthening of the knowledge and skills of procurement professionals within Defense. You will play an important role in organizing, guiding, and further developing procurement training programs, training courses, and general courses on various procurement-related themes.

You will map the knowledge needs within Defense broadly and follow developments in the field of external procurement training programs and courses. You will translate these insights into new initiatives and improvements and advise the knowledge managers on these. Additionally, you will initiate and coordinate knowledge projects and contribute to the development of an effective knowledge management system where processes, tools, and available knowledge are made accessible within and outside the Procurement department.

You will actively work on improving the quality of knowledge management within the Procurement department. You will monitor and improve service delivery, share your expertise, act as a point of contact for colleagues, and stimulate knowledge sharing and development. You will also actively build collaborations with departments and training institutions within and outside COMMIT to optimally utilize existing knowledge, systems, and initiatives.

Furthermore, you will organize (digital) knowledge meetings within the Procurement department. You will prepare agendas, maintain contact with speakers and trainers, manage communication and participant registration, and coordinate the practical organization. After the meetings, you will evaluate them, report on the results, and make recommendations to further enhance quality and impact.

Together with colleagues, you will build a learning organization where knowledge sharing, development, and improvement are central.

What do we ask?

We are looking for a Knowledge Management Advisor who can connect knowledge development with the practical aspects of the procurement function within Defense.

You possess demonstrable HBO (higher professional education) working and thinking level, obtained through relevant education, work experience, or a combination of both. An education in the direction of educational science, procurement, knowledge management, or a comparable field is a pré.

In addition, you possess:

- Knowledge of at least two of the following areas: training, knowledge retention, innovation, procurement, tendering, or contract management.

- Insight into the playing field of the procurement function within a complex organization like Defense.

Where will you work?

You will work at COMMIT (Materiel and IT Command), part of the Ministry of Defense. COMMIT brings together the worlds of IT, technology, procurement, and logistics and ensures that the armed forces have the right resources and support. From procurement to sales, from technology to information, and from materiel and clothing to inventory, communication, and cyberspace: COMMIT ensures that Defense can continue to function. Within COMMIT, the Procurement department is responsible for concluding contracts that provide the armed forces with, among other things, new (weapon) systems, IT solutions, clothing, equipment, fuel, and ammunition.

You will be working within the Procurement Expertise Center (ECI), part of the Procurement department. The ECI supports and advises the Director of Procurement and the Defense procurement community. The center focuses on securing and sharing procurement knowledge, providing tender advice, and effectively and efficiently organizing Defense-wide procurement processes. Procedures, IT support, and management information play an important role in this.
