About the Role This purpose of this role is to provide quality specialist psychiatric services to adult patients in Timaru Hospital. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care. Key responsibilities include: • Providing specialist psychiatric services to adult patients, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of mental health conditions. • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient. • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care. • Participating in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and service delivery. • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of patient consultations, treatments, and outcomes. • Staying current with best practices and evidence-based guidelines in the field of psychiatry. • Providing education and training to other healthcare professionals on psychiatric topics. The successful candidate will be a registered medical practitioner with a specialization in adult general psychiatry. They will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
