IT Infrastructure Administrator (m/f/d)

Full Time Entry Level

Job description

interface projects GmbH is a Dresden-based software company focusing on Enterprise Search, Machine Learning, and Generative AI. Our product INTERGATOR is a semantic Enterprise Search used in industry, government agencies, and research institutions.

For our internal IT, we are looking for reinforcement with a clear focus on Microsoft, Microsoft 365, End Devices, and User Support.

Responsibilities

  • You will take responsibility for the reliable operation and continuous development of our internal IT.
  • You will ensure that our colleagues can work securely and reliably – from user accounts to PCs and notebooks, to Microsoft 365, Teams, telephony, and the necessary access and permissions.
  • Together with the infrastructure team, you will be responsible for operating our heterogeneous IT landscape, with a particular focus on the Microsoft and Windows infrastructure: Windows Server and Clients, Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Exchange, Intune, Teams, SharePoint, Dynamics, and related services.
  • Within the admin team, you will complement each other in terms of expertise: Your focus will be on our internal company IT with a special emphasis on central Microsoft services, users, and end devices. Your colleagues will contribute their focus areas in Linux, virtualization, and Kubernetes.
  • You will manage our end devices throughout their entire lifecycle – from selection and procurement to setup, software distribution, and updates, up to decommissioning.
  • You will analyze malfunctions and problems, coordinate their resolution, and work closely with your admin colleagues, our DevOps team, and other technical contacts. For us, the principle is: You don't have to solve every problem alone, but you ensure that it gets solved.
  • You will actively shape our IT infrastructure, identify potential for improvement, and independently develop existing solutions, processes, and standards further.
  • You will automate recurring administrative tasks and ensure that our IT can grow with the company.
  • You will keep an eye on topics such as permissions, security, updates, backup, monitoring, licenses, and lifecycles of our systems and independently initiate necessary measures.
  • You will ensure comprehensible and up-to-date documentation of systems, configurations, and essential operational processes.

Qualifications

  • You have completed training as an IT specialist for system integration, a corresponding degree, or a comparable qualification.
  • You have several years of professional experience in the administration and support of professional IT infrastructures.
  • You possess sound practical experience in the Microsoft ecosystem, particularly in several of the areas: Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Exchange, Intune, Teams, or SharePoint.
  • You are familiar with the administration of Windows clients and have experience with endpoint management, software distribution, patch management, or comparable tasks.
  • You have a solid understanding of networks, firewalls, VPN, virtualization, backup, and the fundamental interrelationships of modern IT infrastructures.
  • You have already automated administrative processes using PowerShell or other tools.
  • You have very good German and good English language skills.
(Native German speaker or at least level C)

What else is important to us

  • You understand administration not just as completing individual tasks, but feel responsible for the functioning and further development of your area.
  • You can independently set priorities and distinguish between a quick pragmatic solution and a sustainable improvement.
  • You enjoy working broadly and maintain an overview even when a problem affects multiple systems or areas of responsibility.
  • You enjoy working with specialists, respect their expertise, and coordinate closely and constructively with them.
  • You enjoy direct contact with colleagues and can clearly explain technical contexts.
  • You are open and communicative and enjoy working in a team.
  • You want to continuously develop yourself and are enthusiastic about new technologies and knowledge.

Benefits

  • High degree of personal responsibility in a strategically important technology area
  • Collaboration in an experienced, collegial team
  • Flat hierarchies and short decision-making paths
  • Flexible working hours with no core working hours
  • Possibility of up to 2 days of home office per week
  • Very good work-life balance
  • Freedom to contribute your own ideas and take on responsibility
  • Regular team events & outdoor activities
  • Beverage flat rate (coffee, water, and tea)
  • Good accessibility – our offices are well-connected to public transport (bus & train)
  • Jobrad (Company bicycle scheme)
  • Training and development opportunities
