Job description

ad/mbo-practical internship, from February 2027

Are you someone who likes to bring order to chaos?
Do you get energy from exploring, structuring, and making things clear?
Do you enjoy working with digital systems?

This is your challenge

We have hundreds of documents with information about our policies and decisions. These documents are relevant to many colleagues. For this reason, we want to offer the documents in a clear manner, so that all colleagues can quickly and easily find the document they are looking for. We already have an idea of how we want to do this. During your internship, you will further develop our idea and put it into practice.

These are the concrete activities:

  • You will collect all policy documents that are currently stored in different places.

  • You will create a folder structure where the documents will be placed logically.

  • You will classify the documents according to the new structure and provide them with labels and metadata for optimal findability.

  • You will check if documents appear multiple times and remove duplicate, outdated, and no longer relevant documents.

  • You will assess whether the new structure works well in practice and if users can easily find documents.

  • You will identify bottlenecks and propose improvements where necessary.

This is your internship location at CBS Heerlen

You will intern with the Staff team of Data Collection (DVZ) at CBS in Heerlen. This directorate is responsible for collecting a large part of the data that CBS needs for its work. You will get a behind-the-scenes look at an organization that works with many different types of data daily.
Your internship assignment concerns quality assurance for all teams within DVZ.

During your internship, you will of course not be alone: you will have colleagues around you to whom you can turn with questions and ideas. The atmosphere in the department is informal and friendly. Colleagues are approachable and happy to help each other. Of course, hard work is done, but there is also time for a chat at the coffee machine or a joint lunch. If you wish, you can also join a lunch walk during lunch.
In short: with us, you will have the space to gain practical experience, learn new things, and truly work as part of a team.

This is what you bring

You are pursuing an ad or mbo program in information management, administration, business services, or management support.

You have knowledge of and perhaps experience with:

  • Working with documents and information and organizing them in a clear manner.

  • Working with digital programs and systems and quickly familiarizing yourself with new systems.

  • Working accurately and structurally and enjoying making things neat and organized.

  • Collaborating and consulting with colleagues, asking questions, and thinking about how something can be done better or easier.

You like to work neatly and structurally, are reliable, and enjoy learning new things. You take initiative, think along, and ask questions when something is unclear. You also enjoy collaborating and easily making contact with colleagues.

This is what you can expect from us

A pleasant learning environment in which you:

  • gain practical experience with document and information management and learn how to make information clear and easily findable;

  • work independently, but also collaborate and consult with colleagues;

  • learn how to communicate clearly, ask questions, and coordinate well with your internship supervisor;

  • learn to recognize problems and points for improvement in a timely manner and discuss them with your colleagues;

  • receive and apply feedback, so that you continuously learn and grow in your work during your internship.

For your efforts, you will receive an internship allowance of € 800 gross per month (based on 40 hours per week).

These are our conditions

This is an internship assignment and not a work experience placement. Before you start the internship, we expect you to have an internship supervisor from your educational institution, with whom the internship has been coordinated and concrete learning objectives have been agreed upon.
This internship assignment is intended for students who are currently enrolled at an educational institution; graduates are not eligible.
