Job description

Within its lithium-ion battery recycling plant located in Saint-Laurent-Blangy, Battri is deploying a state-of-the-art industrial line dedicated to recycling battery components through shredding, separation/mechanical extraction.

Reporting directly to the Production and Process Development Manager, you will be at the heart of the operation and improvement of a line equipped with leading industrial technologies.

In a context of ramping up production and continuous optimization of our industrial tool, we are looking for a recently graduated Production Manager Assistant / Junior Process Engineer (H/F), who wishes to combine technical rigor, continuous improvement, and on-site presence.

🎯 Main Responsibilities

With the support of the production manager and in close collaboration with the teams, you will contribute to the steering, optimization, and reliability of the process line.

1. Process Monitoring and Optimization

  • Process Performance Steering: Analyze the line's operation daily, identify deviations, and contribute to defining improvement actions.

  • Yield Improvement: Optimize the purity and recovery rates of valuable fractions (Black Mass, copper, aluminum, and separator foils).

  • Industrial Trials and Industrialization: Prepare, monitor, and analyze trial campaigns related to the integration of new generations of batteries or new incoming streams.

  • Deviation Analysis: Diagnose process malfunctions - clogging, granulometric or aerodynamic deviations - and propose corrective action plans.

  • Data Exploitation: Structure records, analyze results, and formalize technical recommendations.

2. Continuous Improvement and Industrial Performance

  • Lean Tools Deployment: Contribute to the continuous improvement initiative of the line through 5S, SMED, Kaizen, and Process FMEA methods.

  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and interpret the line's key performance indicators, particularly OEE, throughput, material losses, and energy consumption.

  • Standardization: Draft, update, and enforce work instructions and operating procedures to ensure production practices are reliable.

  • Improvement Plans: Participate in prioritizing, deploying, and monitoring improvement actions.

3. Operational Support and Field Animation

  • Proximity to Teams: Provide technical relay from the Process Product Engineer to operators and team leaders.

  • Performance Rituals: Participate in and co-facilitate daily production meetings to report issues and track ongoing actions.

  • Problem Solving: Support teams in analyzing incidents and implementing sustainable solutions.

  • Change Management: Train and sensitize teams to new standards, process adjustments, and best practices for operating the equipment.

4. Industrial Safety and HSE

  • Safety Culture: Ensure strict adherence to HSE instructions in a High Tier Seveso classified environment, within a framework compliant with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.

  • Risk Analysis: Contribute to process safety studies, particularly HAZOP analyses, accident and near-miss analyses, and the consideration of ATEX and dust-related risks.

  • Practice Improvement: Identify hazardous situations and participate in implementing preventive measures.

What we offer you

  • A first responsible position on cutting-edge technologies, at the heart of the energy transition and sustainable mobility.

  • Complete immersion within an innovative and rapidly growing industrial site.

  • Close support from an experienced Process Product Engineer, fostering progressive skill development.

  • Concrete missions combining technical expertise, continuous improvement, and collaboration with field teams.

  • A real opportunity to contribute to the ramp-up and performance of a strategic industrial tool.

👤 Profile Sought

  • Engineering degree or Bac+5 university degree in process engineering, chemical engineering, industrial engineering, materials, or equivalent field.

  • First experience in an industrial environment appreciated, including internships, work-study programs, or final year projects.

  • Strong interest in field operations, data analysis, and technical problem-solving.

  • Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and key industrial performance indicators.

  • Rigor, curiosity, autonomy, and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

  • Strong awareness of industrial and environmental safety issues.

All applications will be reviewed based on skills, qualifications, and experience, in accordance with the principle of equal treatment.
